Just wondering why I am able to see Twitter and Handcent emojis on my S3 whereas before on my older Androids I couldn't. My girlfriend uses Handcent and I can see most emojis and I can also see emojis on Twitter when people try to post them thinking all Android users will see are boxes. Why is that?

i think its to do with the app. For example, the built in sms app will not do emoji, yet if you get a third party app (gosms, handcent, chomp, pansi...) and get the emoji plugin for them then they can send and receive emoji fine. I imagine the twitter app you use can also do this. Which is it? I use the standard Twitter one and can't remember seeing emoji but then maybe those I follow don't use them, not sure

are these android emoji or the ones that work on iphone? I've never seen any emoji work on the starndard sms app so have always had to use a 3rd party app to get it. Wonder how you find some of them work

I can see them too now on my HTC One X, via the official Twitter app. This is only since upgrading to JB. As said, previously they appeared as boxes.
