[Verizon] [ROM]JDX (formerly Jelly Belly) AOSP+ - v15 (7/28)

Morning all....

Here is all the information that we have received from the dev regarding moving into 4.2.2:

Quote from Jakeday:
I have a source that provided the changes making up 4.2.2 which have yet to be pushed to aosp. This person is a good friend of mine that I've worked on Android projects with for the past few years, so I trust this friend.

As far as changes, the main focus in 4.2.2 was fixing the performance issues apparent in 4.2 and 4.2.1, and I believe they nailed it.
______________________________________________

Personally, I have to agree. Whether the changes were pulled from the Nexus 4 google updates, or from a developers version of AOSP.....I am not sure at this point where the changes came from.

All I can say is that Jakeday outdid himself on this ROM. Absolutely upgraded my phone. And I will look forward to other ROMS with the same changes in the future. But for now, I am still staying with JellyBelly.

Jake always comes through with these amazing ROMs. The guy is a true super Dev for us!!!!

Lets wait for further response from Jake.

As stated above, the rootz thread is currently closed, and there is a forum at 4ndr01d Forums

I will continue to keep this thread updated for the users that still follow.

See the changes to the OP, specifically regarding the Android version....

Thanks for your patience.

That's correct. This is just simply as stock a Rom of Jelly Bean as the dev can make available. The only enhancements are GAPPS that are not normally available to VZW customers such as Google wallet, and code cleaning and optimization done by the dev.

As far as performance and kernal upgrades, I use Lean Kernal exps and francos app from GPlay, and for toggles I use Notification Toggles... Also an app from GPlay.

Personally, this rom runs the best on my particular phone. And that's what android is all about, right? The options to make your phone your own. Good luck and enjoy!

V12 w/ LeanK... running 3 full days now....
Running perfect. Really like the new "setting" menu on the pull down. Also, can't remember when the new standard keyboard got inserted but I've always used Swype and I'm going to just use stock and see how it goes. Have one app that doesn't work because of the multi user code issue.... it's only my work email app.. who needs that anyway.
No other issues of note. Locked up once on the first day but nothing in the time since... again, might have been app issue.

I just tried my built in tether again and it's working for me. Only thing I had a problem with was that I only get 2 bars of 3g here at home. I know that tether really needs that 4g connection, but it worked fine, just slow.
One thing I make sure to do, is turn off the wifi first... I know it does it for you, but seems to work better for me if I do that.

Have you tried to reboot into recovery and run a fix permissions yet? Also do you have any other apps to limit data running... Like Tasker or anything? I have found that only the built in tether works as well as it should... No other app can compare, at least for me. And since the dev added that it is not tracked by VZW... I am good with the built in. And usually use it to tether both of my kids N7s when in the car traveling, etc.

Doesn't seem to make a difference for me, but I'll keep that in mind.

I ran Fix Permissions when I installed Jelly Belly, but I'm trying it again just to be sure. I do have Tasker runnning, but my only tasks are for turning my ringer off at night or when I'm at my office.
Actually, one of the things I don't like about the native tethering app is that it turns wifi off automatically, but doesn't turn it back on when you stop tethering! It's a little thing, but WiFi Tether would do it for me back when I could get it to work!

-=Edit=-
I typed the above while waiting for Fix Permissions to finish. Even though I ran it right after installing JB, it looks like that may have fixed native tethering! WiFi Tether is still broken, but this is certainlybetter than nothing!
