A lot of things have changed since I have gotten my new phone (skyrocket). Backside used to be the go to rom here and now its looking like a lot has changed. I am guessing that jerry stopped development just like I thought.

Anyways, My sister just got an LG optimus v recently and I have it rooted.
But I would like to have better then stock for her. She complains its too slow. I need a daily driver rom, Don't matter what android version as long as its super stable and better then froyo.

I would prefer ics or jb, but gingerbread is just fine. I have been snooping around xda for roms but none of them seem like they are stable or have everything working. Now I know its common place to test it out myself, but I do not have a lot of time to flash and things. I just want a stable rom, thats decently faster then the stock, and has more rooms for apps. I have her using link 2 sd right now. Anyways, if andyopie is still around or anyone else I knew, if you guys could get me up to speed that would be great.

I did look at the other rom threads but nothing was specified if everything was working or not. Thats why I am asking for help. Thanks so much for taking the time to help me.

The voice dialer button is useless anyway. Might as well just use google voice search actions instead of that. Thanks. So, to verify, everything works, its a gingerbread rom, and we will have good amount of space. Sounds good. The kernal and everything is included right? Gapps? I don't have to download and flash 100 files? haha.

Another question. The repartioning of the sd card, does this rom do what link 2 sd does? Or is that just so I can install link 2 sd myself later? Cause this phone sucks up storage. Thanks

Thanks so much.

The sd-ext partition gets mounted as the data partition, so whatever you set the partition size to that is what shows up in Settings > Storage > Internal Storage. The kernel and basic gapps are including, the only thing that I recommend is that the partition be no more then 10% of the total sdcard sized and ext3/ext4.

Sounds awesome. So the partition on the sd card with this rom tricks the phone into thinking it has more internal storage? That's great! I guess I won't need link 2 sd then. One less app I need installed. :)

Quick question:

Does this kernel support boot animations? j/w
Also should I get the newest superuser or stick with the version that came with it. Meaning super su?

You did great work man, got your recovery and rom on here. I am very pleased. Thank you so very much for your work. It's very pleasing to see the internal memory be so much bigger then before haha. You have made my sister really happy. She can actually install apps now. Thank you again.

I have a question/problem. The phone lost root somehow. Superuser cannot update the binary and when I launch root apps they do not work. I tried downloading another superuser apk online but it never downloads right. Anyway, I am now doing a restore from my backup and will see if that fixes it.

Anyone have any idea why the phone would lose root? It was working perfectly fine before the previous night. Now no rooted apps works. Superuser says an updated binary is available, I had downloaded that before and now i noticed when I am having problems its saying a new binary is available. Can't download it. I have no idea what went wrong.

Ya, I am not sure what happened, the version of superuser was whatever was given with the rom. The binary was updated and everything was working fine even on reboots. It just randomly stopped giving root access and saying a binary update was available but I could not download it. Very strange. Luckily I restored the backup I had for her and all is running fine now again. No problem since. Very strange...
