I downloaded an application from playstore which was supposed to show if I had any spyware on my phone. After installing this app and running it I find everytime I connect to the internet with the standard browser as it is loading the first page it downloads a file called pornappuk.apk into my downloads folder. If I connect twenty times in the day I end up with 20 downloads numbered up to twenty. I havent run it.My antivirus does not find anything. I have deleted history etc but it still happens. My standard browser is the only one that supports flash so I want to keep using it. Any ideas please?

Which antivirus app did you download?

Also an anti virus isn't even needed unless side load apps (download apk's from a website and not the play store)

The play store also scans their apps daily for virus and malicious software.

If the anti virus is downloading something on its own, I say get rid of it.

Also boat browser supports flash as well.

Firstly, what anti-spyware app was it you downloaded?

Secondly, try downloading Addons Detector or Lookout Ad Network Detector and check for anything using push advertising. That stuff has been known to redirect browser homepages, so it's possible something like that is involved. If you find an app using that stuff, removing the app should fix it.

Finally, what AV app are you using? You could try loading a different one for a second opinion.

I have tried these apps but they find nothing. It is acting more like an add on to the browser rather than an application.
Thanks for your suggestions though.

Thanks for the boat browser tip. It works fine with flash even with sky sports. Great! probably more secure as well as it will be less known. I hadn't heard of it. I bought skyfire but it kept crashing and wasn't that good.
