Help Stock calendar reminder set on default

My reminders for events I add to my calendar stopped automatically adding a reminder. I have the default time set to 15 minutes, and but unless I remember to manually add it, but not reminder is set. I think it went away with Jellybean. I didn't realize it for awhile. I I'm on Verizon. I can't find anywhere on how to default a reminder to always be added when an event is added. Please help! Tyia

Can you open the calendar then hit menu /settings and see this :

Yes, I alert is set and default time is set to 15 minutes, and but unless I remember to hit the + on the reminder when I add something my calendar, there is no reminder. Ambi missing a different setting?

I have the same issue and it definitely started when I got the Jelly Bean update. It is driving me crazy.

I thought so. It took me a while to notice. I spoke with Verizon and Samsung who is pointing the finger at Google saying it was intentionally removed.

I now use Calendar Snooze app.
It will remind me of calendar events and repeat the notifications

apparently this does not show reminders on the lock screen??

I set the dates on my PC (Gmail ->calendar) along with SMS reminders. Working so far!

I had the same problem. To fix my phone calendar, I had to use a computer, log into my Google calendar, and go through the calendar settings, paying particular attention to the reminders and notifications section. It seems the notification settings on the Google calendar website override the settings on my phone.

Once I tweaked the website settings to my liking, my phone calendar worked with these settings for future events and appointments.
