Root MidnightRom: Jellybean [MOVED]

My recommendation might not be the best, but what I would suggest is to go back and flash a ROM that has worked for you in the past, and see if you find any issues with it, if everything works, then come back to this one again to test if everything works.

Sometimes that does the magic trick. ;)

I'm not happy about doing that but I guess its a last resort, I don't know what else to do. I hate to do a full wipe for a fourth time after I go back to midnights sense version rom. Thats the rom I was using before this. With that rom, I had none of these issues. As I recall, I don't believe I had these issues with the first and second versions of this jb rom either.

It is better to try anything than giving up. ;)
Besides, it only takes about 10mins to do everything... Just make sure you have all your personal and apps information backed up with Titanium Backup and it shouldn't be a problem restoring everything.:-D

This Rom is awesome thanks so much to everyone that helps out! is there anyway i can make it so my phone does won't turn on by only hitting the power button for a second? I always turn it off and in my pocket it barely presses it and turns on. i think it should be a hold instead of press.
You could try the ButtonRemapper app.

I think you might have to assign the power function to another button if you use that though. If you use the "wake" option you might be able to set it so the power button only works when the phone is on, but you would need another way like sweep2wake to wake up the phone.

I've been having a weird problem...tons of apps are no longer compatible with my phone on the Play store...things like Gentle Alarm:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobitobi.android.gentlealarm&hl=en
BS Player:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bsplayer.bspandroid.free
DicePlayer:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.inisoft.mediaplayer.a

etc. I know for a fact BS Player and Gentle Alarm can run on the ROM, anyone have any ideas?

All of those apps are compatible on my side. Could it be possible that you changed your DPI or are using a modded build.prop to spoof your device model?

Your right on that, but I am not restoring anything from TB this time, I'm redownloading everything from google market and redoing all my settings from scratch to see if the problem still persists. So far, after redownloading the rom and gapps again and installing a majority of my apps, I am still having the issue with 4ext where if I try to back up and click on new, it says 4ext has stopped and boots me from the app. So far, I have not had any random reboots and when I purposely rebooted, it booted fine (did not get stuck in a bootloop).
On a different note, I have been backing up my apps through TB but is there a way to backup my settings, homepage preferences, and what not. To my knowledge, I've only been backing up my apps. If there is a way to back up settings and my homepage stuff, etc, can some point me in the right direction of how I would do that. That is usually the most time consuming for me is setting all that stuff up after a full wipe. Thanks

I think the data and settings is a "Pro" feature no matter what you use for backing up. I tried looking for free versions; but outside of 4EXT which you're having trouble with, I couldn't find a free solution. It's well-worth the money though, I keep my apps separate in case I need to switch ROMs or something.

I do have TB Pro, which allows me to back up/restore multiple apps at once. Is there a option in pro to backup my settings, data, and homescreen preferences. I saw system settings in there but I did not mess with that because I thought that would interfere with the roms settings, don't know much about that.
On another note, I am communicating with the developer of 4ext and he said he is looking into the problem. He is getting ready to push out a update that he says might fix the problem I'm having. Its weird what is going in 4ext, I have no problems when I restore a backup, clear caches, factory reset, or install a rom from the sd card, just when I go to make a new back up.

If you are using the Nova Launcher packed with this you can backup and restore the homescreen and GUI settings in the "Nova Settings" menu.

MNR-J v106 with MNR-gapp installed from clean wipe.
Everything looks awesome, Clock is not JB 4.1 but JB 4.2 but it has grown on me. Timer and Stopwatch are useful.
Also headphone indication was removed in 4.1 so not a fault of MNR, but the Goog.

One bug, that bugs me is when you insert any headphones it puts the phone on vibrate. I think this was introduced with the new sound subsystem. Again plugging in headphones or unplugging, puts phone on vibrate mode so you will not hear your phone ring.

Update:
Found cause and thus work-a-round:
Under Settings=>ROM Control=>Sound=>"Headphone plugged in action" even though it's set to "No action" it's really set to "Vibrate mode" so change it to "Vibrate mode" accept and change back to "No action" sets it correctly.

Swagger work around ( only apply if your over 45, cauz you got none! :( )

System settings => ROM Control => Toggles => "Reset toggles" ( at bottom )

Seems I lost my swagger toggle , can others recreate? :D

I turned on only the toggles I like and also setup "Brightness location" since that toggle is missing but the button and slider work better for me ( NOTE: that that "Auto" which is a button and slider to the right just above the toggles). Still missing 4G toggle. But it looking dam good!
