HTC Aria Cracked Screen

I have a problem also. I replaced my digitizer (though I don't think it needed replacing) and the glass which was cracked. Everthing went well. Touch screen and internet work fine. However, I can't place calls. When I do the screen turns dark and no other function will work until the call is dropped. In addition, my bluetooth still works. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

If your having issues with the speaker I recommend checking over the connections. It sounds like it is not making the right connection which is causing the phone to freeze.

I'm having the same problem with my phone. I checked the contacts and they're fine. The proximity sensor works fine although sometimes I have to press the glass in for it to align properly. I assume this is becuase the adhesive isn't as sticky anymore and so the digitizer isn't sticking to the metal plate, causing the assembly to rise away from the sensor. The speaker phone, button tones, and bluetooth all work. If you have any ideas please respond. I won't hesitate to disassemble my phone again to fix it as I didn't find it too difficult to repair. Thanks =)

Hi,

We see this sometimes when people are repairing their phones. This is often caused by adhesive covering the clear hole on the digitizer that the proximity sensor "sees" through. Make sure the sensor is not blocked and your issue should be resolved.

I resolved the issue with the proximity sensor but the phone still only works on speaker or with bluetooth. The button tones work fine so I know the speaker is working. I also double-checked the connections and everything seems to be in order. Any other ideas?

The phone has 2 speakers. A loud speaker and an earpiece speaker. Your earpiece speaker is not working. Check to make sure you installed this back the correct way round.

Alright so last week I attempted repairing my completely shattered digitizer, it went fine until I got to removing the glass and screen. The glass was completely shattered and the adhesive was holding the screen to the frame of the phone so I ended up pulling the LCD apart rather than get the screen and glass out in one piece.

I had cracked my screen only one week after receiving the phone. :(
...
I looked all around trying to find a tutorial on how to actually replace the digitizer on this specific model only to be disappointed that nobody had created one yet.
(I personally will not be taking apart my phone again to create one with pics though.)

Hi,

We actually made a video guide as well for this model a long time back showing how to replace the digitizer. You can find it here - HTC Aria Repair Guide
