Is there any advantage to use XBMC linux build than XBMC android apk?
Hi the linux image is for xbmc usage only it boots straight into XBMC and there's nowhere else you can go! but it does a great job.. now.:D
The android app is a bit slower as it's an app running on top of the android operating system (ics4) but you get to keep all your existing android apps, angry birds etc.

Are you able to use Netflix with the XBMC builds? Or browse the internet?

Thanks for your answer. If the android xbmc is fast enough, then there is no reason to use the linux one, am I right?

Yes, but ... (probably always have a slightly higher video playback framerate with linuxxbmc:D) However i ran an early beta build xbmc apk from pivos, built & compiled round about 10TH DEC 2012!! it ran fast, smooth, on android (no other apps running) but my box at the time a sumvison cyclone nano m3 did the odd reset at the very point that a streaming video tried to play, but it also had hardware enabled acceleration so the times when the video did play it played well with no stuttering, The Android app for amlogic8726 devices is certainly not a gimmick it's just early days.

There have been several different versions of the wiring, particularly the +ive and -ive posted in various forums.

The above should be the correct one

The first photo with the socket cut out to the font, the two pins the left should be transmit/receive, the third -ive a nd the fourth +ive.

Is this correct and do you know which of the grea and yellow wired are transmit and receive?

Hello folks.
Help please.
Which model of media player is currently the most capable?
I have a 510b (re-branded to Sumvision Nano Slim+, 512 mb running ICS)
Are there models avavilable worldwide with better capability (dual/quad core, more memory, newer Android)?
Where could I buy one? (I'm in the UK but will buy from abroad).

Thanks for your time.

Sorry I don't know for sure, since I resolved the issue before I even opened the box to use the adapter, and I no longer have a ATV1000.

If there is anyway to find out using a multimeter, I can do some test with that.

Hello. I have been using the M1 box for a while now and I know you can hold the reset button to enter the recovery console for installing updating firmware.

But the M3 box (ATV310B) has a SPDIF port where the previous box had a reset pin.

Does anyone know how to access the recovery console on the M3 chipset? The reason I'm asking is because I think the SD card on my box is not working because the Update application is not seeing the firmware files.

Thanks for any hints.

Hi all

I've got a Geniatech ATV1000 Enjoy TV Basic box and I've lost the power adaptor. Can someone post here the specs of the adaptor so I can buy a new one?
I see it must be 5V 1A, but I am not sure about the polarity and the size.
Is it like this one?
(sorry, can't post links)
www_bixnet_com/5vacpowaddaf.html

Thanks!

The adapter that I have is very similar

Input: 100 - 240V - 50/60 Hz 0.35A
Output: 5V 2000mA Max

Barrel plug with centre positive

I do not have a micrometer or verier calipers, by a ruler seems to confirm a barrel diameter of 3.5 mm and an inner diameter of around 1.35 mm as per your redirection.

To me it looks to be OK.

Thanks for your answer. I would rather use Android xmbc then, I can not run only one xbmc app on one box, I like many other android apps.

Can anyone help with this? I'm just trying to figure out how to update the firmware on my Geniatech ATV310B which doesn't have a "reset" button on the outside. And the provided "Update" app is not working either. Help!

Has anyone been having issues with the provided FLASH 10.2 player? It seems when I try to view embedded Flash stream like Justin.TV or Youtube now when the stream starts playing the screen gets totally corrupted and only way to resolve is a hard reboot. This wasn't happening before! Very strange because I haven't updated the firmware or Flash version or anything, and it is happening to all my customers who have the Geniatech boxes.

Anyone??

Here are some demo videos of the problem:

No unfortunately the ATV310B (with M3 chipset) does not have an upgrade hole at the bottom.

Any ideas how I can access the recovery console? Thanks.

Try downloading one of the reboot to recovery Apk out of the market.. I use one to get into recovery when I want..
I haven't got the name of the actual one that works for me.. But there are two main ones to get and try..
Also TB and Rom manager both have commands in them that will reboot to a recovery..

Try.. AnReboot

Hi, I have a ATV1000 geniatech device. I have installed Android 4.0.3 firmware on it and it works fine. The only one problem I have is , that I cannot get the recovery menu. When I restart the machine pressing the reset button, the screen freezes with Android robot on it and nothing else happens... How can I solve this problem? Any idea?

Thanks

Hi guys. Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue or if it's just me?? I tried the Pivos firmware on my M1 box and it is happening for their firmware too. Can someone with an M1 box try a Flash video like Justin.tv or similar and let me know if it's working?

Thanks for the tip, will try those apps next time around. I finally decided to just open up the ATV310B and inside there was a little reset button on the bottom that is not exposed through the case. Starting to think I may just have an engineering sample of the ATV310B because I bought it directly from the Geniatech booth at a show!
