Favourite apps so far:

JeFitPRO - Only lacks the option to add your own exercises and being able to add pictures in it.

SmartVolumeControl+ - I've used many apps but any other had the specs and functionality of this one, my favourite option is to add a profile for every situation which really helps to save some time in daily life. It is amazing what you can do with this app, I can turn on 3G, Wifi, Vibration Mode, even define which volume i want for the people who call me!

3G Watchdog - Helps me controling my 3g data, saving me loads of money in the end of the month.

I just found out about Glimmr (for Flickr) and it's the nicest photo uploading/syncing app for the Android that I've found so far !

Chrome for Android. This counts for me even though it came with my Nexus 7 because it still doesn't come with most Android devices, even ICS and JB ones, and it's the best browser for Android IMO.

VLC. Plays ******* anything. Can't go wrong.

Amazon Kindle. Best ereader app out there. Not perfect, but still very good overall.

Note Everything. I've not tested out many note taking apps but this one is very good for me so far, I use it in classes a lot.

Google Drive/Google Docs. I do wish it let me create new documents offline but other than that it's brilliant for working on the go.

BitTorrent. Self-explanatory. Awesome torrent client.

FetLife for Android. It's, well, an app for checking FetLife. On Android. Also quite self-explanatory. It's also great to have this on Android since Apple would never allow it on iOS.

ASTRO File Browser. It's become a bit bloated recently and I know a lot of people have moved to ES File Browser but I still love my ASTRO.

AdAway. Blocks ads systemwide. First thing I install after rooting.

DroidWall. Very useful system utility. Allows you to choose which apps can and can't access the internet. If you have data limits it's even more useful, especially since it lets you set apps so they can access the internet via WiFi but not 3G/4G.

I did that for a week and went back to Solid Explorer and paid the $2... have it on 2 devices, so that's only $1 each. Same thing happened with FX explorer, I had been using that for 6 months and they decided to take away all the good stuff... it got me trying others and landing on SE. I keep trying ES, but keep finding something I don't like.

I may be able to save up over the next 2 maybe 3 months if I am very 'Froogle" and spring for the paid version.

I just find Astro much simpler to use. At first, I thought the dual panels of Solid would be nice, but I don't find the controls and commands intuitive. With Astro, long presses bring up menus, and it is a simple process to cut/copy/move/paste/rename. I also like the backup features of Astro. I use Root Explorer when I need to change permissions and stuff like that, but I really like Astro. Using it since the release of my OG Droid 1. November 2009....

I haven't used ES enough to give a comment on....

I do like Solid's dual panel, I can (or cuould) customize what each panel's startup folder. and you could use the left/right display to drag something from a folder in panel 1 and drop it into a folder in panel 2. comes in handy if panel 1 is maybe a root directory and panel 2 displaying sdcard directories..

I like Estrongs too but will play with Astro this weekend! I like trying new things.
