Since getting and rooting my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone on Verizon network, I have acquired quite the collection of bookmarks. All my bookmarks are helpful to me and I thought I would share them here:)

All are links to different sites for many things. And none of the links below are of my work, I just provided the links to them :)

This is a work in progress and I will continue to update them as I gather more. Note that most, if not all, are for the Verizon version. So if you see something that you like, make sure it is compatible with your device. I would hate to see someone flash something seen here that is not compatible and end up with a brick

Rooting the Verizon SG3 on JB 4.1.1 / 4.1.2 / 4.3

Recoveries

Roms

Unrooting
Work in progress
So you want to unroot the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3? No problem! After following this guide, you will return to stock and be able to either return your device to Verizon for warranty, or re-root!
Now, this guide is NOT MINE and I did not write it, I just gathered the info from these sites.
Just be sure to save your contacts to google. If some are saved to your phone memory, transfer them to google so they won't be deleted.
  • [How To] Reset your phone in order to return to Verizon(Updated 12/11/2012)

In that link, basically you are going to reset your flash counter to "0". When flashing recoveries and kernels while rooted, your flash counter increases. (you can check your flash counter while in "download mode"--volume down/home/power). If you skip that and just unroot it, Verizon will know you messed with your system. So be sure to do that first while still rooted because the app requires root. If you are not going to send it back to Verizon and just want to unroot, then reroot, well, then skip that part.

Also in the above link, it will tell you to go to section 5 of this link:
  • [GUIDE][VZW Edition]How to root your Galaxy SIII & More!(ROMs/CWM/Stock)

I personally would use this file to install with ODIN:
Official VRBLK3 4.1.1 (available at that site) (the 4.1.2 will be posted there also when he gets it)
Now, I have tried it and it works. And for whatever reason, it took forever to download. I tried it at work and at home. Who knows why, but it did, so be patient.
After you install the stock rom file, you will be unrooted.
Now, while unrooted you can update to 4.1.2 if desired.
I recommend a factory reset after the update as I have seen issues with this and that after the update, and a factory reset, post update, has helped.
Now you can stay unrooted, or reroot.
This is still a work in progress. Last edit 3-16-13
=======================
This is something I ran across and it is not my work, but it appears to me to unroot the device, and upgrade to 4.3. It will wipe your phone. Please read it carefully.
I don't personally know Viper from that forum, but I do give him Kudos for posting it:D :

Hey mike, I have a fully resizable popup browser that I thought I'd share here. It was ported, not by me, from note 10.1. It only works on stock ROMs but might also work on ROMs with TW. Here is a dropbox link for the apk, just push to system/app and fix permissions. If you have a better way to host this, that would be cool.

Forgive my ignorance, but, "popup browser"? What does that do?

Edit: btw, I made this thread a sticky for now so it's easy to find :)

I am currently on VRBLK1, and the only reason i would change is some of the ROMs say they are based on the VRBLK3

Ah, gotcha, but roms are not based on radios/modems.
They are based on software versions such as JB 4.1.1 which, correct me if I am wrong, is VRBLK3.

You may be on ICS now yes?

Edit: correction, you might be on the jb build now VRBLK1

what is considered the latest radio?
I believe the one I posted a link for.
Now, your radio will not change with rom flashes. It will survive that, as rom flashes do not touch the radios.

You can flash that radio if desired, but like I said, I have not done it as my device came with that radio.

Popup browser is kind of like popup video on gs3 and note 2. Its a "mini" browser app that you can launch on top of existing app/web page without leaving that page or app. Ex, looking at Facebook and there is a link, you can launch it without leaving Facebook, its resizable and you can move it anywhere you want on the screen.

What kinds of features does one get by changing kernels?

I've flashed different stock and custom roms on various devices, and only recently unlocked a bootloader, but I have never ventured into flashing different kernels. Just wondering what I might be missing. I'm currently using the stock JB 4.1.1 ROM. (I've not read of anything that 4.2 brings which I would want, and it has its own headaches, like the 0/0/0/0/0/0 subfolder issue, for example).

Well, some kernels will allow for over/underclocking or over/under volting.
Also, some kernels have a greater choice for governors and schedulers too. :)
Different kernels yield different results on different devices. So what works fantastic on one device, may be sub-par on another ya know?

So, its just a matter of reading about the different features of a kernel, nandroid backup, then flash the kernel and see how it works for you:)

Seems as though there is plenty of info out there to guide me along rooting my verizon gs3 however i seem to be coming up short on finding what i need for the very first step. The samsung drivers. I recently bought a macbook pro and don't have a windows computer. Does anybody have any information or know where/what I can do to accomplish this.

The drivers are listed as a download in the rooting guide, or here is a link to them :
