Hi all, I have a question. My wife had the Droid Bionic. It stopped working so Verizon sent her a replacement phone. Instead of sending her another Bionic they sent her a Note 2, that had to of been a mistake but I'll take it. She really likes my Note 2 so she was pretty happy. It of course didn't come with battery, back, S pen or SIM card. If i buy a SIM card and the other items will it work ok?

From what I have seen on Verizon I just swap sim cards and phone works on boot and is good to go. If you have a N2 install your battery and her sim card to try it out before buying all the other stuff :)

Verizon uses SIM cards for US domestic use now? That's news to me. I thought that all CDMA providers didn't rely on SIM cards and any integrated SIM card (embeded or accessible) was created for international roaming use.

But, then again, I'm not a Verizon customer, so I don't know if they've changed how their phone/data delivery is over CDMA.

They do with 4G LTE devices:

I opened up her Droid Bionic, took out the SIM card...it's a different size than the Note 2 SIM card. Hers is much bigger. Where can I purchase a Verizon SIM card for the Note 2?

Most carriers would switch it out for free if you just go visit the store. The Note II has a micro SIM and I guess the Droid Bionic has a normal SIM. I think you could actually cut/punch out the normal SIM card down to the micro SIM card size and it would work. But I would just take it to the store and switch it out... much less headache! I think for Verizon, it may not be simple as just switching out the SIM. They may have to do something in the system to change your device.

You don't have to tell them you think you got the Note II by mistake. I don't think they care where you got it as long as it is not stolen!

I tried both methods, 1st I had another carrier sim card which I never used but it was the regular size card with the preforated outline to make it into the micro sim, which the Note 2 requires, I simply separated the regular sim from the micro sim which left me with the outline of the micro sim, placed it on my regular sized current sim card and cut it to fit, worked a treat, but then went to my carrier O2 UK and asked for a micro sim, which they provided free of charge.

I know Verizon will give you a free sim card, but the authorized retailers wanted to charge me $10 for one which is nuts. You can switch a Verizon sim card from phone to phone, I have done it, I only had one issue where the HTC sim locked itself and after a phone call to Big red the problem reset itself. If you get a micro sim then you can get an adapter to put it in the larger sim model phones, its cheap.
