Spend so much time booted in Linux that whenever I boot back into Windows my Anti-Virus tells me I'm over due for s Virus Scan. The only reason I use Windows is because the Media Center Environment is better, and truthfully Microsoft has done a great job with Media Center its self.

LOL. I get that anti virus update notification every now and again as well.
I'll try to remember to go to a free WiFi hotspots tomorrow so I can download the Linux SDK, tried using the Windows version I had (even changed the aapt.exe's permission to allow it to be used as an executable file) No go with QtADB. Once I get the SDK set up properly everything else will fall into place and I can see if the Zen Garden version you mentioned will work with QtADB.

Recovery update

You have official gotten my seal of approval. Not only was the zipped version a full version, it restored a backup made from the Touch Screen recovery ( means I can keep current backups and not have to make new ones or move them to a different folder ). It also auto booted into restored image after restore.
Last but not least: It works great with QtADB.
My hat is off to you.
Great recovery (only one I will endorse) and thanks for listening and making needed changes.
PS: Thanks for the manual install zip option .

There is going to be couple more updates before I call it good on the recovery, and release download app version of Superior Updater (formally know as IHO Updater). The backup.sh is suppose to backup the Google apps when flashing the ROM zip but does not, and this really should be a function of the recovery. So the next update is going to hopefully backup the Gapps then reinstall then, when then recovery is used in tandem with the app; that way it would save the user form having to reboot back into recovery just to install the gapps.

But right now I'm busy working on getting the Inferior Human Organs code base replaced with Superior Irken Organs which is full CyanogenMod with LGE thunderc devices ported over.

CM7 is ready to go it compiles very cleanly, it is the CM9 that needs working with and because it is larger it is going to take me more time. I do not work with CM9, and so going to need the help with the those that do in fixing the code if fixes are needed, so that is going to take even more time.

The latest update to OM-Mandylion is based off the new code base. Hopefully this well continue development for the next year.

Have downloaded newest Mandylion just having problems with my old Gapps (PlayStore not found after update of market app). Need to try with latest GB Gapps.
Might use ADB to install market update fix?

Well I kind of break the rules and include the gapps LeslieAnn includes, I'm just to lazy to remove them, and resign the zip after building. Well stop after then gapp's feature is added to the recovery.

OK. That explains it. Flashing the Gapps on top of the ones included does mess things up a bit. Will flash the ROM without the gapps.

haha my sister wouldn't even know what a recovery is. She's very happy with the rom and speed though. I thanked you in my original post.

I did this all for her to her phone. I own the skyrocket.

Unfortunately for me, xda is where I have to go to get anything like roms and recoveries. I'm currently running nibbles JB and cwm recovery by s8y.

Will this recovery work with both screens. It's my father's phone so don't know much about it. I Noticed the different screens he installed a recovery and rom but not sure which one. I think it's a cm7 build.

Hi, I'm kinda a noob at this, but is this zengarden compatible with an Optimus Logic. I had made the mistake of trying to update my android 2.3.6 version to 2.3.7, now the phone is stuck in clockworkmod 5.8.4.5 and keeps returning to recovery screen. Please help.

You can try and see if someone can replace the kernel with one for your phone and test to see if that works.

Update for ZenGarden, added ability to install from data partition if sdcard slot is none functional or the sdcard bad, look under Advance Option > Debugging > Quick Fix > Install without sdcard.

Alll Riiite!
Yet another reason the ZenGarden is my recovery.
Will have to download zip when data signal is a little stronger.

Edit: Silly question. Why do you have the ZenGarden in an image only for the V and S. I noticed a zipped version, but which image is in the zipped version? Your thread doesn't say.

Why not just put out a zipped version for both the V and S. Then if someone already has a custom recovery installed all they have to do is flash the zip to install, plus if someone gets in a recovery loop with a V or S it's already in a zip form for that phone.
If someone new wants to flash they just need to unzip.
Better all around if you just zipped the recovery for both the V and S and didn't post an image.
Edit #2:
Also noticed in the install method section that you only gave code for those that install from computer. If someone tried to install with that code from a terminal emulator it would not work.
Remember: Not all that see this thread will be experts at anything root. If you break the info down so a person new to rooting can understand, then everybody benefits.
Edit #3:
Maybe people would be able to find the "Quick Fix" section easier if it was in the "Utilities" section. I know debugging is mostly what the options are doing, but new members might not have a clue one it's there.

As I understand it, if for some reason my phone gets in a boot loop I will have to flash a recovery. Since I won't have debugging on normally, and can't get to a terminal emulator, this means my only option is to install a recovery from a zipped file, like ZenGarden-Touch-Recovery.zip .

Please correct me if I am wrong. Note this is an old Novatek VM670 at ZV5 (updated from ZV4).

At any rate, the md5sum for ZenGarden-Touch-Recovery.zip does not match that posted in the first post.
