Magnetic POGO Charger is Available!!

It is now on Amazon for those of you worried about buying via the makers website:

Amazon.com: Nexus 10 Pogo Cable: Electronics

And it appears to come from California so it is a one to two day turn around.

It did take about 2 weeks the other way, so a quick turn around would be nice! I am still hoping that I get my second one from the whole tracking issue.

Yeah, Insofar as the tracking issue I just didn't even bother looking at my tracking. I learned long ago that whenever I order anything from China or Korea tracking is pretty useless and it comes when it comes.

It's the same product and probably the same company selling them, just a different outlet they are selling out of. It is a brand new Amazon seller.

I just got back from a road trip with mine. Here is what I found. I have this USB adapter that I use in my truck to charge my devices.

Car charger

When I used my new POGO cable while using my N10 for navigation, I was losing charge faster than I thought I should. When I plugged in my old USB cable to the micro USB charging port on the N10, it was able to maintain the same percent. I then tried plugging in my POGO charger at the same time as the micro USB charger and it seemed to charge even faster. I am going to have to do some research on this to see if it really is charging faster. I would also like to know if this might be bad for it. It may be that one of the charging ports is disabled automatically when the other one is used. I have no idea, but it would be good to know this stuff.

As far as using your N10 for navigation, I found that if you keep the screen on and the nav up on the screen all the time, it drains REALLY fast! If you start the nav, hit the home key, let it run in the background and turn off the screen, it will still guide you via voice prompts and it will actually charge the device while it is plugged in. When I got to areas that I really wanted to see the map while navigating somewhere, I just asked my wife to bring it up on the screen.

received mine (the 2nd one i think) today. my first one i was either given an incorrect tracking # (because it was delivered to NYC) or it just got lost.

These people do have great customer service! on Jan 24, 2013 12:45 AM they said "We've checked your case/inquiry. We will send you another pogo cable EMS (express/ tomorrow because international mail can take 2-3 wks."

so for me after the mishap, 6 days shipping!

excited to use it tonight!

I read your post and found it hard to believe that they would make a device that a charger could not keep up with. So I had to test this myself.
On my way to work this am, I programmed my work address into the Nex 10 plugged it into my 99 cent car charger with my 99 cent cable and off I went on my 20 minute drive. When I got there my 10 had gone from 67% to 64%. So I got the same results. I looked at the charger and it was the single 1A charger I use for my phone. So on the way home, I plugged in my 2.1A 99 cent duel socket charger and programed in my home address and off I went for my 20 minute drive home. When I got home, it had gone from 62% to 63%. No settings were changed as I did not use my 10 at work today it stayed in my briefcase. So I got a little better results than you. Not a great charge, but at least it was in the right direction.

Now for the really bad news. On the way home my TPMS idiot light came on in my car.

I was also tethering to my phone at the same time. Were you also tethering?

I got mine the end of last week and along with it I got the flu.

I don't think it charges 25% faster. I get about 20% an hour. About the same as the stock charger. But, I can plug this thing in seconds by the light of my TV. I do love that!

Sorry to hear that.

What happens of you plug in the pogo charger and the USB at the same time, will it charge any faster?

Did an experiment yesterday and today. Yesterday I drained the N10 to the point that it shut down. I charged it for 3 hours 15 minutes with the POGO charger with the N10 off. After a random amount of time of 3 hours 15 minutes I removed the charger, started the N10 and checked the charge. It was at 73 percent.

The rest of the day I ran it down again until it shut off.

Today, I did the same thing but I added a usb charger as well as the POGO charger. I wanted to see if it would charge any faster with both plugged in. After 3 hours 15 minutes of both chargers plugged in, I started the N10 and checked the charge. It was at 68 percent.

My guess is that when the USB charger is plugged in, it disables the POGO charging port. Just a guess though.
