Root Rooted Nook Color with CM7 but Market question

I have the Nook COlor and i was able to get CM7 working. I have no idea how to get the market on there though. The video I followed on YouTube (I'm on a mac. Not many options for help) gave a "googleapps" file but for some reason it didn't work.

Is there a link where i can download the market right to the Nook? Or do I need to download it to a card and do it that way?

Total Noob here btw. I was completely surprised i was even able to root it.

Here's the latest gApps: Goo.im Downloads - Browsing gapps

If you installed CM7 on your sdcard, just copy the file to the sdcard and boot off of it.

If you replaced your stock rom with CM7, you can plug your NC into your usb cable and copy over the rom to your sdcard, then boot into recovery to flash it. Or if you still have a bootable sdcard, you can boot off of that and flash gApps.

You need the CM7 version of gApps from that link.

I was able to get it online but then it kept saying that the apps weren't compatible. I am trying a different version now. I'll keep you posted

Still says "Device isn't compatible with this version" of some very common apps. gmail, facebook. things like that

Sorry, Nick, but you need to give me more info.

Did you replace your stock rom with CM or just flash to a sdcard?

What rom did you install? (CM7, CM9, CM10)? What version? (CM7.2 stable?)

What gApps file did you use? How did you install it?

I got my CWM (2gb) from this site...

I am not able to access certain sites but I believe I got my CM7.3 (encore) from one of your posts. Then I got the GAPPs for the CM7.03 from the list you posted yesterday.

Does any of that make sense

CM 7.3 doesn't exist yet (typo?) and 7.03 is an old build.

CM7.2 would be newer and a stable build. I'd use that instead: CyanogenMod Downloads

The 0828 gApps should be good.

I'd wipe cache, Dalvik cache and data and flash rom and gApps again.

Ok. Got it. But I can't find the market in my app drawer. If i go into settings and select Apps, it is there , but i can't figure out how to get it open

Are you connected to wifi?
Is your date and time in settings correct?
Market should update to Google Play Store.

Depending on what launcher you have for stock, there should be an icon on one of your screens that'll give you a list of installed apps, possibly one for Market/Play store.

The new files worked brilliantly. It took me a few minutes (and some creativity) to get to the market but I finally have it going. YOU are a genius. Thanks

Now is this micro sd card useless or can I wipe it and use it as actual storage for the nook TABLET??

Glad you got it working.

You can wipe the card and re-use it. If it doesn't show the full size, there are a couple of sdcard utils in the read-me-first sticky in the root section.
