Help Bluetooth headphones but no sound (help!)

I've managed to get an old pair of Logitech Freepulse bluetooth headphones to pair with my Note 2, but I'm not getting any audio to stream to them.

Volume levels on both the headphones and the Note are at max. I've tried using both the standard installed media player and Winamp, but neither do the trick.

Am I missing something obvious? A settings box that needs to be ticked/unticked?

Help! :thinking:

Here's the only other thing I can think it could be.

When you're playing the music, is it completely silent or still playing through the speakers only?

If they're silent, once you have the bluetooth headset paired, and media audio toggled, try pressing the volume level up (on the phone) while playing something via bluetooth. Thing is, some devices have separate bluetooth volume from the media audio and it can only be accessed when you have bluetooth audio paired and running (not sure why this is, but I saw it early on with the Photon and definitely saw it on the original EVO).

I'm glad I'm not the only one having this problem.

I can successfully pair the Freepulse headphones to the phone but no audio comes through. Tried all the recommendations on here thus far but nothing.

Also tried it on my colleague's Galaxy 3 device and no joy.

Beginning to think it may not be compatible...

I've just discovered an app that might be of some help. If it works, I'll report back!

Any Luck?

Unfortunately, no.

The software I checked out was **********, which is designed to offer better control of media outputs from your device. Unfortunately, it looks as if the Freepulse headphones themselves are simply not compatible with my GN2.

I'm thinking about buying a pair of Dr Dre Beats Wireless. Quite a step up from the old Freepulse........:)

normcash and mightyd have the same BT headset and neither will connect more than likely means that particular set is not compatible with the Note 2 despite it being a BT device.

This is not uncommon at all. And I'm about 99.9% positive no matter what either of you try to do, there never going to connect. If the app you found works I will be greatly surprised.

@ melmak I used to fall asleep with my Tones on and always managed to turn the volume down in my sleep. Wake up thinking something's wrong with my phone. :p

Hi There,

I have a Note 2 and tried to use my BT headset this morning same issue occurred all functions worked but no sound.

Just surfed the web and found this answer, it worked for me hopefully for you too.

Goto: Sound settings>In 'System' settings section, check 'Touch Sounds'.

BT works sound can now be heard.

NB Person on the web who suggested it said the reverse 'uncheck' this box.
but which ever works for you.

Hope this helps :D

This sounds crazy, I had the same symptoms with my GS5A and my LG. When I would connect to the head phones, nothing would happen except the phone would quit playing though the local speaker.

I ended up increasing the volume control on the phone and the content on the headphones started playing.

The volume 'icon' on the screen on the phone indicated I was increasing 'Bluetooth volume'.

I too toggled and pushed buttons but to no avail. After it says that you are connected try increasing the Blue tooth volume setting on the phone.

Thank you. This (turning touch sounds back on) resolved the issue on my Nexus 6.

I'm having a similar issue. Where my headset connects but drops the audio fromy LG HBS760 Bluetooth headset. Starts randomly playing from my phones speaker. I was using a Audio control app. Sound About to fine tune some audio settings regarding notification sounds. So I turned it off in the hopes the app was acting up. Nope still does it. The phone it self says on still connected. Headset never says I lost connection. If I turn off headset absbturb it back on. It will connect and play audio from headset. Than it drops it again short time later. It does it on any app that has sound.

I found that it cuts out when ever I go ina tunnel. Since I commute via train.

New issue. Headset is functioning fine minus the no sound issue. I have a Nexus 6P and it connects microphone works just fine. Just that I can't get any sound to come out of it. Audio plays from speaker just fine. But when i connect inside the headset it says connected. Just after it won't do audio playback. I don't even hear the beeps as I increase the volume on the headset. No sound other than disconnected or connected from the internal voice. On the headset . I notice everyone blue moon after turning it on or off. I can get audio to play, but if stop the audio or turn off Bluetooth from phone or headset. it won't play again if I tried.

Hello
I have a Note 2 pro and was experiencing the same problems.
This is what worked for me to fix :

turn on headphones

On Tablet
- Settings>connections>Bluetooth
- on right hand side click on settings icon of your paired head phones
- put a check mark beside "media audio"
- click on device tab at top of window
- Sounds & notifications
- on right hand side ...
- ensure "Media" slider is moved to the right to your preferred audio level
- Sound Mode is set to "sound"
- close out of settings
- turn off headphones
- open video or music
- turn head phones back on and adjust volume button up until sound is at level of choice
- give the ear phones a few seconds to adjust

Hope this helps.
Katey

PS

The "media Audio " will auto uncheck itself when the Head phones are turned off and likewise will auto check the box again when the headphones are turned on again.

I've got this problem on LG V20. Happens nearly every day. I've tried all the suggestions here. Every indication from phone is that the headset is connected and playing. Only thing that works is to make sure my headset is connected then power off the phone and restart.
Has now gotten to the point where it just doesn't work at all. Had to go back to wired.

My Bluetooth was working fine on my Galaxy S7 and an hour later it was like they weren't even paired and connected and all my settings were correct. Searching online did nothing to solve my issue, so I found my own.
I hope this helps other people fix their issue at least until they can figure out the underlying cause.

On my Samsung Galaxy s7, I was able to discover a quick fix by doing these steps:
Go to--->SETTINGS
scroll to--->SOUNDS AND VIBRATIONS
down to--->SEPERATE APP SOUND
Slide to the ON position
scroll down to--->APP
Click this option
Select Apps you want to Bluetooth or stream through other audio.
click--->Back
scroll to--->AUDIO DEVICE
Click this option
Select Audio Devices you will be using. (In my case Bluetooth)

HOPE THIS HELPS!!! ;):thumbsupdroid:

I have the same issue on my samsung galaxy S6. It used to work fine with my bluetooth headphones. Then one day it stopped. It says its connected on the screen and my headphones say they are connect, but no sound :(
So far nothing works. The headphones work perfectly with all other devices and I know they work on S6's as Ive tried it on another one.

Any ideas?
