Respond to an Email using another Email account

Hello,

I have an Acer S500 Cloudmbile

Is there any possibility to answer en email using another email account?

Example: I have a private email account and a family email account. A friend sends me an email to my private email, but I want to answer him from my family email account.

I use both the Email basic app (yellow envelop) and the Gmail basic app (red envelop). Is this possible in either apps (NOT jumping from one app to the other, of course)?

If not, can you suggest another Email app that allows that?

Many thanks in advance.

Its possible. You however have to have both email accounts in one app, which means you can't do it on the Gmail app. On my phone, simply open the email sent you, then hit reply. When you get into the part where you input your reply, you will see the email address you are using to reply written at the top of the screen. Just press on that and it will let you choose which among the emails you have syncing to that app you wish to use to reply. This works for the standard Samsung email app and K-9 as far as I know.

I'm not sure you can do it from the Android app but you can do it using Gmail on a computer, How to Send and Receive Hotmail from Your Gmail Account - How-To Geek This setup should work with any Pop3 email account. I'm linked to my old hotmail account. I'll check and see if I can send myself an email using that address with Gmail on my Galaxy S2. I'll post the results shortly.

Okay that was fast. I found out that when you compose an email on gmail from your Android device using the 4.04 operating system one you can tap on a little gray triangle in the corner of your email address and have it send it addressed as originating from the account you linked to your gmail account. Thanks for asking such an interesting question Jack123torr.

It is possible within the Gmail app. But you need to set Gmail up to import your other emails.

First go to your primary Gmail account via your PC. Then via the settings menu & the Accounts & Import tab. Under Import mail and contacts: click Add another email address you own and complete the fields. There are options for whether you want to send emails from a default address & if you want to reply from a specific address or the one that received the message by default. Allow Gmail to import the emails from the second address.

Open your phone Gmail app & force a sync via menu>refresh. Your phone will import all the emails from the newly added address & there will also be a label for them.

Now when you reply within the app there will be a dropdown at the top with the current reply from address. You can change the reply from there.

If you dont want all of your imported emails cluttering your inbox you can set up a filter (via your PC Gmail settings Filters tab & the
Create a new filter option at the bottom of that page) and apply the skip the inbox function.

I hope that helps.

Hello,
Apaprently ACER S500 is different. I do not have that possibility (no small triangles on the email address...).
And, I want to keep my Gmail accounts separate. I do not want to import one into another.
Seems that I will have to download K-9, unless somebody comes with a solution.
Thanks to all.

Set it up by going into gmail on your computer, then click on settings, then click on Accounts & Import, then look for the heading 'send mail as:', and add the email address in there. You will then be able to send from that address as an identity.
The address you just added, will then sync with your gmail app on your device and you will be able to send from that email address and your main gmail address.

Hope that makes sense?
