Does anyone know if it is still possible to just flash the 1.12.11.1210 radio update? All of the links to just that file on the firmware sites seem to have been removed.

it is recommended that you upgrade to the latest radio firmware incrementally. if you are on an older radio and the jump to the latest you most likely will brock your phone.

you can go here for the latest firmware:
[FIRMWARE][S-OFF/1.12 HBOOT ONLY] Jewel Firmware Collection - Latest Radio: 1.12.11.1210 - theMikMik

please read the op and follow directions there.

Just to be sure.... I'm already on 3.16 so is it ok to flash the entire 3.16 firmware package right over top to get the newest pri and baseband?

yes flashing the full firmware will not brick your phone with what you have now. you do not have the latest pri or baseband so upgrading to the latest will be fine.

Sorry for the repeated inquiries but I'm a little confused at this point about what is needed to upgrade my radios/firmware to give this ROM a shot.

I've read this thread and came out only more confused :) [FIRMWARE][S-OFF/1.12 HBOOT ONLY] Jewel Firmware Collection - Latest Radio: 1.12.11.1210 - theMikMik

I'm currently running CM10, S-ON, 1.12.0000 HBOOT, 1.12.11.0809 radio, 25009 PRL (I'm not sure where to find my PRI on CM10).

Am I safe to flash the full firmware update? If so, did I read correctly that the new firmware will cause issues if I was to go back to CM10 or other AOSP ROMs?

you can't flash radios with s-on. the only way to upgrade your radios is to re-lock the bootloader, either take the ota or run a ruu to upgrade. you will then need to re-unlock the bootloader install TWRP recovery and then flash this rom. do not forget to make a nandroid backup before re-locking the bootloader.

or

you can just get s-off and then flash the firmware. if you do this make sure that you flash the full firmaware of 3.15 and then flash the full version of 3.16 in succession.<<<<<--------i recommend that you do this over the other option, because if you ever decided to get s-off in the future, doing so is so much harder to do..........but that is up to you.

Thanks, I appreciate the reply - I thought I was able to flash radios (and had done so in the past) by virtue of my 1.12 bootloader but I must have been thinking of something else. Sounds like it's time to get s-off :)

I thought you could flash radios on the 1.12 s-on hboot.

But you can't flash the newest yet as your baseband is too old. I think you need to be on 1.12.11.119.0 or something like that.

you guys are actually correct. i did not know this, but it does state in capt's faqs about firmware that those with hboot 1.12 should ba able to flash firmware thru recovery.....my bad:eek:

I would still shoot for s-off. I'm no where near as savvy as most you guys with this root/hack stuff but I WAS able to get s-off on my own without any help. I had a thread that charted my step-by-step accounts. You're not allowed to post a guide if your own by request of the people who created the dirty racun method. I kept things as generic as I could while trying to be informative. I didnt want to piss anyone off but wanted to try helping others.

I never went for s-off on my OG EVO because it seemed way over my head. With my LTE EVO the method seemed easier so I made the attempt. It took me 2 hours start to finish. Get it now while you can. It opens the door to all possibilities. You don't have to jack with fastboot flashing kernels or these firmware updates.

Just do it man, you'll thank us later. :)

I just did the firmware update and it went through silky smooth.
