Best Buy $199 and $ 50 Card for Note II

This is not correct. I bought my note 2 this week cause best buy personal said price is god through sat and 50 gift cards starts sunday. He assured me price will be going back up to 300 suneay so you have a better deal getting it now. Also they will not price natch with another store AND give you the 50 gift card. Basically 199 is the lowest theyll go.

The Best Buy here (Virginia) advised that there is a deal online for phone for $199 AND you can use the card for the purchase starting Sunday. I would ask your particular store and make the best decision.

HTTR, according to the BestBuy sales rep I spoke to on Tues when I purchased my Note 2 your post is totally inaccurate. According to her there's been some confusion. The $50.00 gift card only becomes available on the Sunday the 10th with a 2 year agreement. She also said that that's the day of new BestBuy pricing, and she suspects the phone will come off of it's $199.99 sale price and go back up to $299.00. So it sounds like BestBuy is playing games with the consumer. She said she was pretty confident the best price I could get was to buy the phone this past Tuesday since it was $199.00 for AT&T version of the Note 2 which is what I did. She said she highly doubted that the price would remain at $199.00 when the $50.00 gift card becomes available on this Sunday the 10th!

All I am telling you that if you are in Richmond Virginia..the Best Buy on both Brooke Road and Hull Street have advised they will. I have no idea where you live and it appears that you already have the phone. All I am saying is ask your local Best Buy unless you happen to live near Stickler or Lakers Freak, as they have apparently done the legwork for you. ;)

I know it is hard to believe that a Best Buy sales rep may give different information......

Just got off the phone with BestBuy customer service. She told me the only way to qualify for the $50.00 gift card is to reserve the phone online by the 9th. This is bull. She can't tell me for a fact that the phone won't go back up in price on Sunday. She advised me to return the phone to my local BestBuy. However, the catch is that the phone could go back up in price on Sunday. I can't get a straight answer. I told her about the Richmond Virginia claims and she said she wouldn't believe it unless it was posted by BestBuy. Absolutely, no freaken help at all!
Lakersfreak, this isn't right and we shouldn't get screwed out of a price of $149.99 for the phone if that is the case. I was definitely misled by my local BB sales person if that is the case!

Good luck buddy...classic Jedi Mind trick by BB! I will visit the local store(s) again on Monday and check the price of the phone just to see if the screw job is in! ;) Will let you know Monday. If the ultimate goal is for Best Buy to play the shell game...shame on them.

If this isn't in right place, please do move it.

I had my new Note I for 44 days, decided they're not going to give Note I JB anytime soon, if ever, so I took it back Best Buy and got the Note II.

I paid $150 for Note I and extra $150 for the Note II.
Total cost with contract was $300.
(Note I is going for $100.

Then this weekend I saw that Best Buy had it on sale for $200 w/2year contact. So I went back and they gave me back $100. That sure made my day!

It will go back up to $300 this weekend so if you want either one for a good price, get down to Best Buy.

Ok, just went to my local BestBuy where I purchased the phone on 4th of this week. After being tossed through a few people I finally was given the Store's wireless manager. Here is what he told me. Until tomorrow you aren't really reserving the $199.00 price for the phone, but just the $50.00 Gift card. He showed me this coming Sunday's ad which shows the phone's price goes up to $249.00 and that is when the giftcard of $50.00 becomes active magically bringing you back to this week's $199.00 price. Boy, talk about playing games with the consumer! I told him if I hear of anyone getting this deal for the current $199.00 price minus the $50.00 gift card I will be returning to look him up. BestBuy to say the least is a wealth of misinformation! So if anyone gets that phone deal from BestBuy for ($199.00 - $50.00 gift card) in essence getting the Note 2 for $149.00 then please post your BestBuy receipt. HTTR, thanks for following up on this on Monday, appreciate it! Please let us know what you find out.

Will do buddy.

That sounds like some dirty advertising. My local Best Buy manager is really good and receptive to customers. I buy a lot of stuff there and the store manager have always been very cool.

Take a look through the early Best Buy threads in this forum.

Best Buy's price match policy is awesome. When I got my Note 2 (1st day it was available through Best Buy), I ended up getting 3 price matches:

1st price match - $199 through Wirefly Friends & Family deal (this was done literally the afternoon, after I got home from buying the phone)
2nd price match - $149 through Amazon (this was done the next day)
3rd price match - $99 through Amazon (2-3 weeks after, during all the holiday specials)

So, moral of the story is, I think it's worth purchasing with the $50 gift card. I had signed up for "phone freedom" last year, so in the end, I really only ended up paying $49+tax for the Note 2. Lucky for me, the phone wasn't going to cost anything out of pocket, since I had a lot of gift cards stored up to use.

The best part is, because of my great experience with the price matching, I have a good amount of Best Buy gift cards ready to use on the Note 8 tablet, once it's released!

My suggestion...print out the pricing from the Amazon website right now and bring it with you on Sunday.

If you're on Sprint, I'd even take a shot of printing out the "new line" price of $99 from Amazon.

Best Buy will without a doubt price match Amazon Wireless...but it's YMMV for having them price match a "new line" price, if you're upgrading. I was able to get it, but not all people were successful.

Good luck!

You don't seem to understand my situation. I've already purchased the Note 2 this past Monday from BB for $199.00 because their sales person told me that the price as of the 10th is going up and purchasing it right then would be the best deal. So in essence you're telling me to return this phone reserve the $50.00 coupon by tomorrow and then have them price match Amazon wireless at their $199.00 price via a price match on Sunday? Something tells me if one has them pricematch its gonna negate that $50.00 gift coupon. This price game they're playing is ridiculous (see my above posts)!

Ok, in your case, just keep an eye on the price dropping and get a price match when it drops.

Your correct... same here in the NW. Today is last day for that deal and goes back up to $300. For you folks that bought one at full price within the past 30 days, you get $100 back like I did. That was a Nice surprise. :)

ya theres no way best buy is going to give this phone for 149. Even if say amazon has it for 199 tomorrow best buy will not match price AND give you the 50 gift card. You will get it for 199, that's the lowest, unless amazon drops the price down lower than 199!
They refunded me $100 since I got the Note II two weeks ago.
I wonder if I still qualify for the $50 gift card too?
Can't hurt to go down and ask...
