This is a great feature, however it's important to note that in order to take advantage of it you must use a charger with at least a 1A output. This includes the OEM charger supplied with the Motion and many aftermarket ones as well, but you should always check the output ratings when buying a replacement or extra charger. There are still many lower-rated ones being sold. Also a PC USB port will only supply 500ma so the phone will not rapid-charge when plugged into a PC. I know this is true for USB 1 and 2, I'm not sure about USB 3.
If the phone is plugged into a power source with a lower output rating than required for rapid charging, it will charge at a slower rate.

USB 3 provides plenty of power for rapid charging. If you've ever built a rig before, most motherboard manufacturers advertise that with the ports on their computers.

Even so, those USB 3.0 ports sometimes need drivers to force USB 2.0 devices that can use more than 500mah be able to access all of the juice.

Yeah, it seriously sucked when I lost my original charger in a rental car... Now that I am getting a Motion for my wife, I will use her charger ;)

Also, I am going to eventually get a blackberry blade charger. Those are supposed to be 1.8 mah...

Well now I know why my phone was charging so quickly. But it doesn't mean that the phones battery will last longer, in fact even with the extended 3600ma battery it still goes through the juice much quicker than my old Admire used to and the Admire had a lousy battery usage rating. I've tried to scale back my usage and apps that run in the background and still this phone uses a lot of power.

I have wifi so don't need to have data on unless I leave the house which is rarely since my surgery. Does anyone know of an app that actually does help battery usage? Please don't advise of some b.s. app that does nothing, the app store is full of those.
