I saw this last year. I still prefer a landscape keyboard slider. The on screen keyboard even with Tactus technology still takes up screen real estate. I like landscape keyboard sliders because they hide under the screen when not in use and slide out without having to cover any portion of the screen when you do need to use it.
Kind of a cute idea - I guess there's no reason why the keyboard couldn't work landscape as well as portrait.
Have to say, I don't miss a hardware keyboard as much as I thought I would. I used to have sliders, but the problem with a keyboard slider is that the phone ends up fat and a bit creaky.
I've got one of those cases with built-in USBkeyboard which I use with a generic Allwinner tab. the N7 doesn't even see the USB keyboard. As a result I can type just about as quickly on the N7's screen keyboard as I can on the ohysical one with the other tab. I'm getting to prefer the on-screen keyboard now.

With my two previous phones with physical keyboards, I would say that it took me a month before I felt I can type on them fairly proficiently and with few errors. Both keyboards are different and have a different feel, so it took some time to get use to them. In comparison, I have had my Galaxy S3 for 7 months now. I have actively tried to get used to the touch screen keyboard. I have tried a few different ones too. So far, I still make so many errors typing on them. I would say I make a few errors in every sentence I type on a touch screen keyboard. If I am typing a long post, my typing begins to improve towards the end of the post and may go a sentence without an error if I'm lucky. With my keyboard phones, I can go a few sentences without having to backspace over my errors. The lack of tactile feeling of a key before I press it seems to make me way more error prone. I have made a concerted effort to get better at using touch screen keyboards. After 7 months trying to type on a touch screen, I came to the conclusion that I really need a physical keyboard in order to type with a reasonable degree of accuracy and speed.
I have was excited to get my DROID because it had a keyboard but turns out it was crap.
Since then I've used SwiftKey and never looked back.
While they say it's durable, I'm still skeptical. Really cool concept though.
