Root I'm Out :p

Well we all appreciate you helping out everyone especially the noobs. This is what makes the forum a forum.

You are so lucky you have a galaxy s3 that is a great device. Have fun with it

I thought I was going to wait it out and get a Galaxy S4...but then the payroll deduction hit me, and I decided to scale back. That, plus a price drop on the EVO V made switching to VM a no-brainer. My EVO V will be paid off in May from the monthly savings...so by the end of the year, I'll have $600+ extra that I wouldn't by staying with Sprint. That's about enough to buy a Galaxy S4 off-contract :p

Im jumping to the n4 next month, :D

I switched to Straight Talk but I might switch back to T-Mobile for LTE. I caught T-Mobile's LTE during their test run and it was pretty decent. The download wasn't as fast but the latency and upload was much, much better. I didn't have a reason to unlock the bootloader until now tho. I updated to 4.2.2 and they took out the option to pick LTE so I gotta unlock the bootloader and flash the radio from 4.2.1.

The problem with HSPA+ 42 is it idles at HSPA+ 21 (in the Las Vegas market anyway, I've seen other markets idle at regular 3G) and it takes a few seconds for HSPA+ 42 to kick in so the pings on speed tests are initially high, anywhere from 650-1000ms. T-Mobile's LTE was consistently around 55ms. Webpages loaded much quicker.
