Root [ROM] Viper4G 4.0.0 and beyond

I was wondering how one returns to the stock font (Jelly Bean, I guess?) after one changes the font using Viper Hub??

I had this question before running Viper4G 2.X and, I believe EarlyMon, provided a link to a zip file that I still have entitled "Jelly Beach Stock Fonts (All).zip"

Do I just flash this zip to get the stock fonts back?? Or is one of the fonts named in the Viper Hub the set of stock Jelly Bean fonts??

THANKS!!

Hey...found something on the 2.X ROM that I thought might be changed with the release of 3.X but was not.

I think the icons for "sound" and "sound and vibrate" are incorrect for the "Volume" quick settings icon (accessed in the Viper Tweaks area)....at least from my own intuitive look at the icons.

Look below at what Viper indicates as "sound" (ONLY sound; no vibrate) and "sound and vibrate"):

TO ME is appears that the icons should be REVERSED: "sound AND VIBRATION" should show the extra little "vibration wave" to the left of the speak and "sound" by itself should NOT have that "vibration wave."

Anyone else catch this?? So minor in the grand scheme of things and don't want to be nit-picky-annoying to the devs but wanted to know if anyone agreed with me and whether I should mention to them...:thinking:

I'm completely lost now.

I've re-downloaded the rom twice and checked the MD5 sum, its good. Flashed it with the aroma installer wiping, wiping only from recovery and wiping in both. Dalvik and cache partition wipes, everything.

I cannot get anything to install from either my SD or my internal memory partiton. APK's on my SD card won't install even when I move them to the internal memory, no good. Titanium backup is useless, won't load a thing.

Rom flashes perfectly, no issues, boots right up. I can install from the Market just fine.

I've also flashed the rom with and without the #fapple.zip. No difference.

Once I nandroid back to 2.0, everything works normally.

Hulk smash!!!

Which TWRP?

Flashing 3.0.1?

2.4.1.0 TWRP and 3.0.1 ROM.

I just don't get it, why would my memory bork out like that?

My pictures and audio are accessable, and I can transfer files via USB to PC just fine.

I also have a Patriot 16gig class 10 SD card.

I've fresh installed like 6 times, and it's the same thing every time. I like the way the ROM feels, and I want to run the darn thing, but not being able to install from memory makes me a little leary to keep. Until we figure it out that is. :)

OK, big edit:

I dug a little into Titanium Backup and found a setting for "app processing mode" I changed that to "AUTO, Indirect" and it worked!!!

It was Titanium Backup the whole time.:p

OK, it's not TWRP. I downgraded to 2.3.1.0 and reflashed with it. Flashed just fine, no issues. Tried a titanium backup restore, app only, no dice!!

Then I wiped everything in TWRP, then wiped in Aroma. Reflashed the rom, booted fine again. Tried a Titanium restore borked again. Deleted the app, reinstalled from the play store, no go.

Then I backed up my internal memory and my SD card to my PC. Wiped absolutely everything including internal and SD memory. Reflashed, booted fine, no go on Titanium restore.

When I hit restore in the settings after I select the backup, the pop up screen where you select install never shows up. It flashes on the screen for a sec then disappears, but I never get the option to select install. Just a box saying restoring app.xxxx but it just loops and never installs the app.

Thank god I don't have any hair because I'd have pulled it out by now!!!

MyBackup Root has been working very well for me lately, unlike before.

I used to use My Backup Root back in the OG days, but I got away from it. I'd probably have saved myself a lot of trouble if I'd have tried to restore my apps from there.

Good news is, no need to report anything to the Viper team. ;)

OK, off to tweak out this thing!! :D

No need to flash the touch panel firmware stuffs. It'll break AOSP roms until HTC releases the source code for the 3.16 kernel. If you flash it, you'll only be able to run Sense roms based on the latest OTA.

Also, just boot to hboot and check your radio number. If it's 1.12.11.1119, you're good to go to flash the latest firmware. If not, just flash the firmware for the 3.15 update, then flash the 3.16 update afterward. :)

Wow, I've been gone for a long time and missed so much. This update sounds AMAZING and I can't wait to try it out!

I've read through the thread, but if anyone wants to give me quick pointed tips or let me know about any issues that I may be facing when flashing I'd really appreciate it.

Here's my relevant info:
Rooted - Yes, with S-ON
Hboot - 1.12.0000
Radio - 1.02.12.xxxx
Running - Viper 4G 1.0.0 (Sense 4.0, Android 4.0.3)

You have hboot 1.12? Get s-off is my advice. It's super easy with DirtyRacun and hboot 1.12.

Whether you get s-off or bit you should definitely give Viper 3.0 a shot. It really is a solid ROM. I believe it comes with the s-on kernel installer so you don't really have anything to worry about if you want to flash thus.
