What was your biggest reason for switching?
I used to own a 4 and 4S. For me it was the screen size. Once I picked up a 4.8 inch screen the 3.5 or even 4 inch on the 5 seemed small. I also like that more apps are free. I still think the iphone is a good phone but now I can't see myself going back.

What were your reasons for switching and are you glad you switched?

(this isn't intended to be a flame war apple vs Android. Just friendly discussion)

Lol you wont find many iOs fanboys on here mate i dont think :)
Ive never owned an iphone so cant really comment.
Id say the main reasons in general will be screen size and marketing/trends but on a site like this, the main reason will probably be customisation, freedom, open source, as well as the screen :)

I agree with you there about there not being too many iOS fanboys on here but I felt like saying it anyway :p

I had a couple androids (samsung epic, htc evo 4g, htc evo 3d) and thought i would try and iphone which i picked up the 4s. Could not stand it compared to a android just the why it worked and the home screen setup and no sd card and what not so after 3 months i traded it away to a friend for the evo 3d. Then couple months later picked up a s3 and will never even look at a iphone again

I went from incredible 2 to the 4S and was initially impressed with build quality and call clarity, but texting sucked without swype or swiftkey and was the deal breaker. Got the S3 and couldn't be happier (well, I could be but..). Was fun jailbreaking it and customizing it, but was still too small and had to pack a charger everywhere I went. My S3 with extended battery is still at 50+% after a full day. I have a spare battery and have never had to swap.

I have never owned an iPhone as well but I can speak for a handful of friends that have switched from their 4 and 4S's to S3's and a few HTC one's. What I found very interesting as to why they switched was because it really did not have a lot to do with a particular feature but was more because they had become very disillusioned with Apple when the iPhone 5 was released. The lack of any real new features or technology in the iPhone 5 sort of woke them u8p to the game Apple is playing with it's customers. They realized the high end Android based phones had finally passed the iPhone on by and that the iPhone would never catch up because Apple wants to hold back certain features to keep their customers buying new iPhone's every single year. As time has gone by I think more and more iPhone owners are beginning to realize what Apples game is and more and more people are switching to Android for that reason.

I went from Android to Iphone cos I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Got bored with it pretty quickly and don't like the way there is no expandable memory, no way to change the batery and in order to do most things you have to plug into your pc.Very happy with my S3 and cant see myself going back to Iphone. The only thing I missed was the music dock but I have now bought a bluetooth dock which I am really happy with.

I switched last month from the Iphone 4 to the S3. I liked the screen size, and have always been a huge Samsung fan. Last year I picked up the 7" Samsung tablet and really liked the interface (my first exposure to Android). What really made me decide to switch now, though, was that for no particular reason I went on to Gazelle.com and found out I could sell my Iphone for $150. I had always assumed that on a site like that I would be lucky to get $50 for a used phone. That, coupled with a great sale on the S3 made it a wash.

I switched because a) I was getting somewhat bored of iOS and b) to see if Android was no longer garbage (my droid was a pos). I had a good feeling about the S3 and thought it might be Android's time to shine. And I was right. S3 is a great phone. But I still like the iPhone. I don't have a strong preference toward either brand.
