Galaxy Note 2 master Accessories List

I use mine all of the time. It's awesome! Sometimes there is lag but I'll say that 85% of it can be eliminated by a cache/dalvik/RAM clear + restart.

Nice. Thanks for the tip. Are you using the stock ROM or a 3rd party launcher?

If you haven't seen it, here is an excellent video of the potential use of the GNOTE2 with the Smart Dock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hy3wETf5o0&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Saw it early, but completely forgot about it (actually, it's where I first found out that the USB ports are powerful enough to connect external hard drives). One main thing that I forgot is that higher capacity external drives can't connect well. Not really a deal breaker for me because I've been waiting for a reason/excuse to swap out another external drive I have that is only 80gb, so it'll be perfect for backing up my internal drive and microSD.

Like now you see if now you don't.
Man that dock sells faster than you can say boo.
Yeah no kidding.

Speaking of which I went to Amazon and ebay and there are a few available but expensive (more than the Samsung website at regular price).

But while in ebay, I came across a product that I never seen before.
its the Wireless Dual docking station by Samsung which seems to work for the Galaxy Note 2. But as usual it is also expensive as heck. Found it in Amazon in both black and white and a bit cheaper but still.

Now, looking at that product brings me to one of my gripes with manufacturers. Considering that the Note 2 has the ability to be used as a desktop PC with the proper accessories (like the Smart Dock) why don't manufacturers (in this case Samsung) make a better product by combining the smart dock with this speaker dock.
My version would be having the tray slide out allowing you to connect the Note and then make the rear of the device have the 3 USB ports (to connect your mouse, keyboard, external hard drive) as well as a hdmi port to connect to the HDMI tv. But with our luck, they could make it but never be available.

Does anyone have any suggestions for headphones? I can't stand the headphones that came with the phone. I need ones that are like the old, flat ones that will NOT pop out of my ears within moments. I want them to have the volume control, too, but it needs to actually work with this phone and be compatible. I've been searching through Amazon and these forums for awhile but I haven't been able to find the answer. I need them for when I'm not laying down on top of them and the gym (I'm in rehab after being hit by a car).

Mouse....I use ones that have the over-ear attachment. They are great for when I run or workout, I keeps them in pretty well. Obviously they are not the best for cancelling out other noises but they do a good job nonetheless. Here is a quick Amazon search to what I am talking about. Not sure of the volume control though. Hopefully you can find what you are looking for.

And they are gone.

I wanted to share with those of you stuck waiting on the Smart Dock from Samsung to show up in stock or appear for regular price on Amazon - I just ordered the Smart Dock from Verizon. Same white Samsung Smart Dock just done up in Verizon's packaging, and I used my company discount incorporated into my Verizon account. The listed price is $99.99, and I ordered it Monday 2/25 and it was delivered to my door Wednesday 2/27. There was no back order, no delay, so if you are wanting this dock I'd recommend checking out Verizon (worth a shot)...good luck!!

Btw, how do you put phone into the mount? The whole idea of ultra slim grip is to use one hand where grip is in portrait orientation with spring-loaded side facing down, and you put on it with a phone to insert it into the grip. But then, you will need to rotate it to landscape orientation with a phone in it. I don't like rotating it all the time, so I'm using it now in landscape orientation, thus need to use both hands to mount the phone. Is that how you do it?

I will also include mounting pictures of my Nexus 7 as well. It works quite well with both Note 2 and Nexus 7.
Yeah, I mount it one-handed, then rotate.

Saw your review post, nice write up and pics. :)

I confirm, no marks left on the dash, although I felt a little ring indent which is due to fancy Lexus dashboard material.

If you read my full review with pictures, I tried it vertically on kitchen cabinets (wood), island counter top/bottom (granite), wall (painted surface). No residue or marks or damage.

Do you think this would work with a GPS like TomTom?

I guess depending on the size of TomTom? If its a small 3.5" unit, probably not. For something 4"-5" it probably will work. Doesn't dedicated GPS already have bracket with power connector? I remember it was on our old Garmin nav unit. All those brackets already have universal ball joint connector which goes right with Arkon mounting arm. But if you want to use TomTom GPS as is, it's hard to tell without knowing the size of it.

Just to clarify, when I said it doesn't leave any marks, I'm talking about sticky stuff or discoloration. You're talking about an actual ring indentation in the material on your dash, right?

Correct, it wasn't visible but rather something I felt brushing against the surface of dashboard. The suction force is very strong, and my dashboard material is probably softer than usual. I took it off a few days ago, and now that indentation smooth out a bit.
