So my S3 is stuck in a loop where it wont get past the samsung logo. I can still access safe mode and dl mode fine. Odin still sees my phone and I've been trying to flash it back to stock with no luck. Odin keep getting stuck at 2/5 of the progress bar on <ID:0/004> system.img.ext4. I've also tried my sd card but it can't seem to mount it.

So what are my options ? Can someone please help me out.

EDIT: I can mount my SD card now, put two zips on it tried one so far but it still seems to be unable to boot off of it. I'll wait a few minutes to see what happens.

Edit#2: Still won't boot off of the things in my sd card :(

Still having no luck guys. I took a little break because it was driving me nuts but I do need to fix it someday..

could someone please post the steps I should take in order ie:

1.
2.
3.

That would help and than I could tell you guys if it worked or not. Right now I have CWM and I tried installing zips from my sd card with no luck. It still hangs the the galaxy logo. I can still access DL mode as well but when I try installing the stock rom it hangs at <ID:0/004> system.img.ext4 forever. I did try leeting it run for while to see if it was just slow but two hours later it hadnt moved so it's definitely just not working.

I would really appreciate if someone could help me get it back and running. It a videotron t999v btw.

According to the dl link and descriptions, yes it is. If it ACTUALLY is though, I have no clue.

Edit: It's getting stuck at the same place as usual. Can anyone help me out ?

Have you wiped everything and factory reset? I've been stuck in somewhat the same situation before , but with another device. Turns out I forgot to factory reset. Should basically be the same.

How would I do a factory reset if it's stuck on the Samsung Logo? It looks like nothing has been updated. Odin gave it the pass after reinstalling the stock rom. But it doesn't go any further than the Samsung logo.
So, how would I do a factory reset from here???

What is the status on this problem. I just encountered the same issue. Stuck on the Samsung logo. Please let me know if you resolved it.

Go into your custom recovery (since you're flashing a custom ROM) to wipe. Hold volume up + Home and power on.

I really wish it was as easy for me..

At this point I'm thinking going back to the store but if they see the flash counter, I'll be screwed. Buying a new one is out of the question and according to all the forums I've checked, I should still be able to recover from this soft brick(as long as safe mode and dl are working). But it bugs me how Odin always stops at the same place.

Are you using the stock USB cable that came with the phone? If so, do you have another you could try? I remember seeing some posts over on XDA in the GS3 Toolkit thread that talked about issues with Odin & certain USB cables- might be worth a try...

I actually DON'T have the stock cable, it broke so I had to buy a new one on amazon. This is what I got Samsung Original Micro USB Data Cable for Samsung Galaxy S3 III i9300, Galaxy S II, SkyRocket, Google Nexus S 4G/CDMA, Galaxy Mini, Galaxy Ace, Galaxy Note, Galaxy S Blaze 4G, Galaxy Pocket, Samsung Illusion, Exhibit II, Star 3/Star 3 Duos: Amazon.ca

It says its stock and it DOES have Samsung branding on it. I'm trying to find people with the stock one. My friend had one but lost it so it seems its going to be while. But I could transfer data fine when it was working so I don't see how it would bethe cable..

I've tried this at least 20 times now.. With the stock recovery and cwm one. It still hangs at the Samsung galaxy s3 bootscreen.

You can't flash a custom ROM using a stock recovery. Make sure you're using an updated CWM or TWRP. If you can get into recovery, download a ROM, any ROM, and flash it there. After, wipe cache/davelik, factory reset, and reboot.

You want me to flash from Odin mode right ? Because this is what I've been doing and the green bar moves and than just stays stuck forever a little under halfway(check the picture above). It doesn't say failed or anything though, just stops moving..

edit: i am running cwm at the moment as well. Also, I don't know if this changes anything but its written QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT:ENABLE

Are you on Verizon? That means your bootloader is still locked from what I can tell. They are the only ones who have a locked bootloader if I remember correctly.

That makes me question if you downloaded a compatible ROM.....Please post more details about your phone, which CWM version, and what ROM you're trying to flash (and a link to the thread would be helpful)

Hi, i have the exact same problem. I have a Samsung Tab S2. It is in that loop over an hour now. Can i just disconnect my tablet from the PC and go on?

Thx for any help in advance
Hello there!
Are you trying to ODIN back to stock also? You can disconnect if you haven't already and try to hold the power button down for about 20 seconds or so to force a reboot.
Otherwise, is there a reset pinhole on the Tablet?
