Root [ROM] Negalite-Blurom | 2.95.651.5 | Virgin-Mobile/Sprint | Sense/Apex/Nova | Aroma | 08-10-2013

Well, I managed to update to R37 via SVN using the PC method because it was easier. So, just double-checking, since the SVN which is a nightly tends to be smaller than a full sized ROM, we just keep whatever files and folders in the baseline build and make a zip file after updating?

The only thing that is smaller about svn is the download. it only downloads changed files, which makes it faster for you to get. The rom zip size remains the same.

and just double click the negazip for an automated zipped, signed and renamed zip file

I am on R37 as well, and I must say, I really like that the green outline for homescreen apps is GONE. There's another guy here who hates the green specifically on the home screen. I am going to look in my thread history and let him know about this...he'll be tickeld BLUE :p

Also, you said to just wipe System, and that's what I did. What about cache and dalvik cache? I didn't touch those, but just about any and all dirty flashing starts with a wipe of cache and dalvik cache. Could there be some corruption in my R37 as a result of this?

I just want to nail down the workflow on this so that I don't have to wonder things moving forward. Having to flash the whole ROM each time means making sure that I've UNCHECKED Facebook with Messenger each and every time. I cannot allow that app to sneak onto my phone :D

I must also comment on the ability to overclock all the way to 1728. No need to install BT overtop your ROM anymore.

Any chance of making youtube work with the screen off?

I tried to use negazip, but I kept getting some sort of error. So I used a program like 7zip or Bitzipper to zip the appropriate files instead. But that's only a minor gripe since this ROM looks pretty sweet. :)

I too kept getting an error, but it was at the end of the process. I don't think my zip file got signed properly because the error I had was related to signing the file.

It shouldn't matter though...at least if you're S-OFF right?

Install/update java and that error should go away

The rom automatically wipes cache and dalvik(just for fun) at the end of the install.

So Basically having it checked in wipe, just double-wipes

I see there's a r38 update to this rom. Just wipe Dalvik and cache? Or full wipe?

If you want to just install on top. Check 'system' only in wipe options, do not check the optimize option or anything else

Good. That gives me something to do tonight.

I've never downloaded just a single R-Update to my SVN folder on my PC. This will give me a chance to see what that's all about.

Is there any indication what the R-level is for my SVN folder? I know that when you compile the zip file, it names it with the R-level, but is there anyway to check before you zip things up?

Also, OASVN didn't work properly for me at all. It was making 1 gig zip files and those files weren't named properly either. I even transferred the entire negalite folder to my PC and tried again, but I got the same results.

On my very first SVN to the desktop using tortoise, I was able to make a 538MB zip file (proper size) and it was named correctly with "37" at the end of the file name.

Ok im ready to download the rom now, but im kind of confused with the rom version, i see r35 in the OP, but see others are talking about r37, where i could get the latest version to flash?

I appreciate any help i can get

I am flashing R38 in about 5 minutes. I got the zip file already made.

You have to make the zip file yourself. I kinda like this delivery method now that I've made two successful zip files with it. My update from R37 to R38 took all of like 5 seconds to download. It's so much more efficient on bandwidth.

That looks right. ;)

Initial checkout can take 30 minutes to an hour depending on the speed of your connection, but the updates are only 5 minutes or so after that. You can also easily see the changes in each commit by right clicking on the main BluROM directory, choosing TortoiseSVN, then show log.
