Any nexus 4 owners thinking about picking up an HTC One when it releases?

My answer is a solid yes!

However who knows how long it will last in my hands. Honestly it looks like a beautiful phone, sense 5 looks to be much improved, the camera looks to be a very worthy shooter, and with my situation I'd be getting back to the world of combining my android device with LTE band waves.

But like I said, the question for me will be how long will I hold on to it because it will have to replace one of my current phones, and that will either leave me with replacing my iPhone 5 or my (dare I say) nexus 4!

Anyone else thinking about giving the One a try?

I'm thinking about it because the hardware looks so beautiful.

However, I've left a Nexus device for Sense or Samsung before and regretted it so I'm not sure. I can't be bothered rooting etc either so if I have Sense then I will have to stick with it.

So thinking about it but probably not. Also interested in what the Motorola X Phone will bring.

It does look like a really nice phone, but I'm undecided.

A fully unlockable bootloader is a big thing for me, so unless it's S-OFF'd by the time my contract is up in October, it's a no. So, coupled with the fact I only got my Nexus 4 yesterday, I'll most likely hang fire for a bit, maybe see what happens with S-OFF or wait to see what next years phones bring.

Yea the locked bootloader doesn't bother me, my biggest thing is like the other poster said, Sense, its all about HTC's sense.

My fear is that I get the phone, get bored or tired of looking at sense and find myself downloading launchers that look like Vanilla android ...lol. And no matter what sense is still underneath it all anyway.

I'm going to have to use it and really make my mind up from there. And then T-Mobile comes into play...My n4 is mine, I own it and pay $70 a month for everything unlimited. To take the plunge and buy the one outright will be kind of pricey, so most likely I'd get the one on at&t and have it replace my iPhone 5. But then I'm rolling with 2 android devices on both my lines! When initially my intent was to do away with my i5 and get the new blackberry on at&t, which honestly hasn't impressed me from what I've heard from insiders.

Decisions , Decisions...either way I'll have it in my hands in a few weeks and report back to all my n4 brothers and sisters...

Lol. I'm definitely a very different sort. My Nexus One just died earlier this week after 3 years. My Nexus 4 is supposed to arrive today and I hope to stick with it at least 2 years.

I think my Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 (thelatter has pretty much replaced my laptop) will be a great combo.

But I love watching your posts. Tends to let me get my consumer impulses out vicariously.

I was gonna wait for "neo" otherwise known as "the one" but the nexus 4 with all of its android purity and 1st in line for future updated-ness reeled me in. I have had my n4 for about 2 weeks now and it's becoming increasingly hard to find faults within this phone. It's truly amazing. But what do I know...

I agree, my n4 and n7 are two devices of mine that get alot of miles and use. My n7 is perfect in every way for the exception of not having really loud speakers, but for $199 I cant really complain.

I'm glad my posts bring you some impulse...lol

My n4 is really loud, so when I grab the one I'm going to be really interested in how the speakers compare...Especially with the one having beats integrated into the device...Which honestly didn't do much for the one x, which IMO didn't have very good speakers at all...Oh well, we shall see.

Not thinking about the one at all, it's a very nice phone and all but blink feed doesn't look good at all, even though i know u can disable it but what's the point if it comes with it.

I'm actually more inclined to try out the new blackberry. But the nexus 4 is an awesome device

Kinda like HOOK, my Desire (=poor man's Nexus 1) lasted me nearly 3 years and I'm now really hoping my N4 will manage at least 2. I'm WAY too tight to replace it any time earlier unless I absolutely have to!

Other'n that, all I have a 1 year old laptop (which replaced one that was 7 years old - seeing a pattern yet?)

My missus has a new iPad. If I ever feel the need to play with a touchscreen bigger than what I have on my N4, I'll try that.

Yup I see the pattern...It's that your not as nuts and crazy as some of us!

lol, I cant go a few months with one phone! However, besides the alure of the HTC one, I'm pretty content with my n4. The S4 is probably something I'll skip, and I really dont see anything else on the horizon pulling me away from my nexus, unless Google brings another nexus to the table....X phone maybe if it's straight vanilla and has some good hardware?

The HTC One hardware is screaming to have vanilla Android on it - it would be perfect. Maybe BlinkFeed as an app/widget rather than baked in would be cool.

I agree...the Hardware on the one looks beautiful to say the least. You slap Vanilla android on there and that phone IMO is a world beater. But we both know that's not going to happen because HTC, like Samsung loves throwing they're skins all over they're phones...sighhhh!

So I will do the deed of grabbing a one when its released and give it a whirl. From the reviews I've watched...Blink may become annoying to me within the 1st 10 minutes of playing with the phone...And since I'm not into rooting or any of that...that would be a nail in the coffin as a no no if that happens.

HTC make good phone. I just dont know why they are loosing money so badly. I did not like Samsung phone at all. Certainly not a iphone with a 10 ft pole.

Like Kelmar I wasn't really what you would call an HTC fan.. And here's why

My favorite HTC phone of all time was the original Droid Incredible (Amoled screen)
I loved that phone! Everything about it was like so cool, the colors, the size, the shape, it was just a hot phone for that time.

Then came the HTC EVO, which again was pretty much the first of its kind with the size and what not.

And then HTC lost me!

After the EVO I kind of just fell out of love with HTC and began hating sense, like really hating it! It was so intrusive and in your face, I began to hate they're clock and weather widget, I just didn't care for them as a whole. I honestly just didn't pay any real attention to them again until the One was announced. The original One X to me was ok but was a real let down with its sluggish ways and crappy speakers. And again sense just became so long in the tooth...

Now with the one I think HTC can get back on the field with the Big boy Samsung, and hopefully compete with some killer hardware and from the looks of it, much improved software.

My only gripe, and fear at the moment is that HTC, or the carriers for that fact, are taking way to long to get this phone into the hands of people in the U.S.

They better act real quick, because Samsung may pull a real sneak attack and get this S4 to the masses really really soon!

Well seems like we wont be seing a release of the one until Very late March because of some issues with the camera sensor, and who knows if that includes when at&t will be releasing it...Genius move by HTC!

After watching some reviews I have to say I'm in love with the hardware, but I just don't know if the camera is going to cut it? 4 megapixels is 4 megapixels no matter how much you try hyping up with all sorts of bells and whistles...In 2013 theres no excuse for any hi end smart phone camera to have any sort of noise present on a picture it takes, and thats what I'm hearing about the one....ehhhhhhh!

My old Olympus C310 3 megapixel camera gives nicer pictures than the 8 megapixel camera on the N4. By nicer, I mean that at a glance they look sharper. If you blow up the picture you see the pixels sooner on the Olympus, but at Facebook or tablet (N7) size the pictures from the Olympus look better.

The Olympus doesn't have the space constraints of a smartphone lens so it's no surprise that the optics are better (and the C310 probably cost a lot more than the camera in the N4, even though the C310 was a budget camera). My point is that you shouldn't dismiss the 4 megapixel camera in the HTC One until you've tried it.

Having said that, I bet the HTC marketing dept now hate the engineers
