What sporadic posts regarding data signal & GPS issues? I've only read one post on GPS issues (from AMAZON) & even then the OP couldn't make a positive determination of the cause.

I agree 100% that there are other options for decent battery life & don't doubt for a minute one's issues that they're experiencing.I just am inclined to believe that there may be other issues affecting data/GPS issues.Perhaps if you know of someone that has an SGS III & wouldn't mind using the battery for a few days to see if they could replicate the data/GPS issues.If so,I'm sure AMAZON would appreciate having such information for future reference.

I had my doubts about this battery as well,but fortunately,myself & most others have had a positive experience w/it.At least w/AMAZON,you have their backing & should have no problem getting a refund on your purchase if any subsequent attempts to contact the seller prove fruitless.Good luck & keep us posted on the outcome of your situation.

Thats not that good. i get nearly 2 days from the standard battery and i work in a phone shop so im on it all the time

Today was a better day with reception, which does concern me because nothing was physically changed. Doesn't make any sense. I did receive a response from ZeroLemon:

Hi Jeff,

We do not experience this issue with our battery. We've done certain signal tests with our battery and do not find this issue. Please ensure your application and firmware are up to date. If you continue to experience issue, please let us know

WTH... The battery is no longer available on Amazon. Hoping this means that the 7000mah is ready to ship. Fingers crossed.

Are you on WIFI all day maybe? Or in an area where you get a great signal? I get a poor signal at work, and when I used my S3 with the standard battery I had to charge it overnight and I barely would make it to the end of the day. With the Zerolemon I now can get 3 days between charges.

You would probably get a week between charges lol.

However, it does seem imminent. I got an email from ZeroLemon today saying that the 6300 has been phased out and only the 7000 will be available now. However, the 7000 is still not available. Looks like it will be available any minute now...

Glad I waited for the 7000, I'm ready to get my order in pronto!

i know of a few issues. first off its three batteries that discharge into each other. and the discharge rate between batteries is horribly slow, to protect the li ion cells from heating up and running current through them higher than what is safe. since some are bigger than others. or theres a system to it thats just not right.. when charging it may say its full, but its not really, and will go back to charging within moments for about another hour til its truly full. and when discharging itll go to 5%, and if u put the phone in standby for a while itll jump to 15% so u never accurately know the battery percentage and can almost never charge it fully properly.

I contacted the seller of the battery & there is nothing wrong w/the 6300 version of the battery.It was purely a practical business decision to not offer both & just go w/the 7000 mAh version.

He did state that there is an actual 700 mAh gain over the original 6300,so,I definitely agree that it would be pointless to produce & stock both,as most would opt for the larger capacity of 7000 mAh.

I doubt it. This battery literally covers the entire back of the phone.

Take a look @ the pics in the OP's posts (1st post in this thread & post #32) to get an idea of the size of this battery.

As far as reception issues, seems logical since it covers the antenna area. Impact is probably not much, but since IMO the GS3 is already bad with 3G signal, I will pass on this battery. Still, I can see why others would like it.

Added:

My guess is why some are having less than expected performance is the battery causes weak area reception to be even weaker and this causes the radios to suck even more power. The GS3 is great on battery life in good signal areas, but AWFUL in weak areas. Much worse than any previous device I have owned for battery drain in weak reception areas. Opposite in good signal areas.

Haven't tried this battery, but the thread posts are interesting. Seems natural that covering up the radio with a battery might reduce radio effectiveness which would translate into decreased real-world battery performance. It might stand up on a test bench but not in every day use.

As for extended batteries, I've had the Gorilla Gadgets since December now, and it's proving to be a very good battery. With light use (15 mins calls, 60 mins 3G radio streaming, 15-20 texts a day, 15 mins of wifi surfing, and 15 mins of 3G internet surfing), I only charge every 5-7 days. I can get a full 1-1.5 days of heavy use - any thing I can throw at it - on trips to NYC and Philly without even thinking about my battery now.

As to recharge time, I use a 2.1 amp charger that recharges it from 10% in 3-4 hours. Never sat and watched it charge, but I can confirm the 3-4 because that's the longest I've ever sat it on the charger once the initial 10-hour recommended initial charge was completed. Also glad it fits the Seidio Extended Door-Case-Clip combo.

I don't think I'd need to jump past 4500mah since I have a second GG for extended travel.

I ordered a 7000 and just got a battery but it doesn't say 7000 anywhere. Anyone know of a way to identify the capacity of this so I know they sent me a 7000 rather than a 6300?

And what is the fastest way to discharge the battery for the 6 full charge/discharge cycles?

With the 6300 people were saying that the instructions indicated battery level would display 2% for a long time because the phone misreported the capacity. I don't see that anywhere in the instructions I received. Is this no longer an issue for the 7000?

I can confirm that the seidio case will NOT fit the zerolemon battery, sorry. I have both and it's really not close. I did some work to see if I could make it fit but there's no chance. The rubber sleeve could be made to fit but the exoskeleton can't. You'd have to cut off everything below the kickstand, unfortunately.

is there currently a dual- layered case that could be used with this new battery?

I knew Seidio Expanded Active Case was the only dual-layered case that could be used with an extended battery, but it would not fit this one that is even more expanded than the regular extended batteries. 7000 mah sounds very tempting, but I won't get it until I can find a good double-protection case for it.

Mine arrived and it took just over 12 hours to charge. I am now in my second day of light use and it has dropped to 96%, I should get down to 2%, for a recharge, by July.

The phone is heftier, but not objectionably so, and the cover is great. My only problem is it won't fit in my Infuse car mount.
