Post your homescreen!

Here's my home screen & 2nd page (I use 5 in total). Using Go Launcher EX, icons I made myself & Elixir 2. I'm using the Go Multi Wallpaper plugin which technically is a live wallpaper but it doesn't alter battery life at all. It just allows you to have a different picture for each screen. I made different coloured versions of a wallpaper I made (carbon fibre background with the Breitling logo on it) so as I scroll pages the background changes colour. As you can see, I'm not one for the 'minimalist' look. ;)

love the effect on your screen--how did you do it!!!!

Thanks :) I didn't do anything fancy because at this point I just wanted to get something completed and running for me to be excited about.

The icons are MetroStation. The battery percentage, wording next to the number icons, and days of the week are all Minimalist Text. The time and information under it is Advanced Clock Widget. I use Nova Prime as my launcher and had to adjust the screen grid to 9x4. I also unchecked the box for the divider between the dock and the desktop and also unchecked the notification bar so that it is not longer present. I downloaded some new fonts to use with Minimalist Text, which honestly was the most exciting part for me, hehe. That took a little bit of time for me to grasp, but it isn't hard. It all was time-consuming, but I made a basic lock screen in 20 minutes last night before bed so clearly I have learned a thing or two :) It's addicting.

I may have forgotten something, but I don't *think* so. Feel free to ask me any questions as I am more than willing to help anyone at all, though I am not sure I have much to offer in comparison to the awesome people in this community who have helped me!

This is my current homescreen - still working on the others. It's pretty simple: BobClock with Simi Weather.
The lock is Widgetsoid, it locks the screen (easier than adjusting my grip to hit the lock button on the side)
Android weather
Simple Text created Phone/SMS/Gallery/Firefox

I'm using Nova (free). Folders in the dock are Talk, Social, Photo, set up to currently have 5 icons per dock, with 3 docks. I'm using the MeeUI icon pack, which is what Nokia used in Symbian Anna and MeeGo.

This question is like screaming fire into a crowded building but I'm gonna ask it anyway. :D

Has anyone else gotten bored with customizing homescreens?
First, they take SO long just to get it as perfect as you can, then eventually the same look becomes meh and you find yourself redoing it.

In terms of customizing, I used to never bother with that sort of stuff. It was nothing to pay for a launcher and use it as stock replacement.

Maybe it's just me.... if so, be afraid to tell me! :p

I'm with you! Spent over a week customizing my Home screen. Once I was done - that was it. Still using the original layout from 3 months ago. I got mine built around Nova Launcher compacted into 1 screen with all the widgets under my hand in one view giving access to everything I need. On the other hand, when it comes to N2 accessories - my wife already told me I lost my marbles... But at least you guys get a benefit of my detailed reviews ;)

But with a home screen customization, you have to know when to stop because tweaking could be endless.....

I kind of think it has to do more with why you customize your screen.

Examples:
If you customize because you are trying to be creative then when you get board with customizing you may just be in a creative slump.

On the other hand if you customize just to show what you can do to others on the forum then you may just grow out of the desire to show off.

Or you could customize just to try and find a screen setup that looks like you want and works like you want. In this case you may go through several designs and apps until you find what you want and just stop because you are pleased.

I would say if you got bored with you screen and didn't feel like messing with another then you probably customize to let your creativity out and are just in a slump. :)

If I ever got bored of customizing, I'd just go get an iPhone...LOL

But, I should say, there is some logic to my sarcasm though. One of the biggest reasons I enjoy customizing and continuing to customize my phone is to fine better ways to make my phone use more productive, quick, while at the same time being aesthetically pleasing to the eyes, when I look at my phone.

I don't necessarily go for the theme coloring or icons matching the theme of the phone. It's more-so what I would enjoy, but also what would allow me to continue being more productive in a short period of time.

That's why I use widgets so much (Agenda scrolling widget, Bookmark widget, Social Networking widget are my must have widgets, which Android Pro Widgets has served me well for the past 1.5 years). Widgetsoid is another one that is crucial for making my phone customized to my every day needs of being productive (personally and professionally).

I don't customize much like I thought I would. Most launchers I try for a day then I go back to stock TW. Nowadays the only customizing I do is changing my wallpaper. Maybe I shouldve kept my iPhone...nah!

I usually went with themes and left it at that. Never spent much time digging into launcher settings and changing anything around.
I think I've just been in it for the eye candy.

One of my favorite people (FlossyCarter) has 900 phones and every last one of them are set up the same.

I remember your widget teachings. There are so dog gone many of them though....widgets that is. :D
I kind of wish there was one set I could get and find everything I need in that one package instead of having to install so many.

I know what you mean. It can get overwhelming. I usually stick with the same ones, but like having the option of changing it around, when I get bored.

There are some that do have multiple options. If you list what you'd like to have available to you, all in one package, maybe I can help you narrow down to the ones that would work best for you.
