***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

I don't think that means anything. Even my old Touch has a snap-on back that's soft touch, and that's OEM.

IMO, if there is a factor that points against soft touch, it's the color gradient, but I'm not sure even that's a big deal these days. Based on how the camera protrudes, I'm guessing this isn't so much an additional cover as a replacement for the original.

Oh really? I have never seen a soft touch snap on, it seems a little weird to picture. However, if they are out there then I guess it could still be soft touch, that gives some hope :).

:thinking:okay guys I need you to talk me down. I was checking out the motorola shadow ...oh why oh why did I do that??? Now tell me how much better the Incredible is going to be.:thinking:

Cause if you liked Motorola phones you would be sporting a shiny new Droid and the HTC Incredible thread would not even be a bleep on your radar. Think Devour.... humm......you could already have one of those. :D

Ah, nice. That would be great. Especially if it is a replacement... I'd rather not add any additional bulk to the phone, and probably won't buy anything that does so.

Has anyone else found that while they wanted the phone pretty badly before coming to this forum, now that they are here they come here multiple times an hour grasping for news straws? Cause that's what happened to me haha.

That's exactly what happened to me, only 500-odd pages ago......

it's like a black hole.............filled with goodness!

I came to this thread "interested" in getting the phone. Now, there is no doubt in mind about the phone and I'm obsessed!

is it confirmed that gmail doesn't work with the "mail" widget on sense ui running android 2.1?

...and if it doesnt, that makes noooo "sense" hahaha

The gmail account you use to register your phone with does not work with the sense ui mail widget. BUT, any other gmail accounts does.

On my Hero, I have 2 gmail accounts, an exchange account and a Yahoo account. One of the gmail accounts, I used to register my phone. All my other accounts are handled by the Sense UI mail widget.

Edit: Before I got my Hero, I only had 1 gmail account. Just before I got my Hero, I created a second gmail account just for Android phone registations. This account is the account that the Android Market is tied to.

Haha. :) I checked out the stuff on the Shadow as well, but I didn't really get into it from what I read and saw.

For me it came down to two major points.

1) I don't like the physical design of what we've seen of the Shadow in the photos. It is too angular and industrial for me. Same reason I don't like the Motorola Droid, or some Sony products. While I can appreciate that particular kind of style, and why it may be appealing to some, they are a little too utilitarian for me.

2) The Shadow features MotoBlur on top of Android, as opposed to Sense UI. I was able to check both out, and I hated MotoBlur. I loooved Sense UI. MotoBlur was busy and cluttered, and ugly in my opinion. Sense is really attractive to me, and I think the software design and flow is really smart.

I still don't particularly like the beveled design on the back of the Incredible, but I love the front. It's all a delicate balance for me, haha. For example, I also don't like the overly rounded "pebble" shape of the Palm Pre any more than I like the angled design of the Droid. The Incredible is a perfect balance, sans the weird back.

Holy crap! I just remembered I had a $100 gift card from Best Buy! I'm already under contract and received a letter saying I could upgrade early. I always went to our local b&m vwz store. Can I still go to Best Buy instead and use my gift card too? Thatd really be awesome as my finances are tight. Will they also let me change my phone number at a Best Buy? Does that cost extra? Certain ppl can't have my number anymore. Thanks for the help guys! I'm so excited about this phone :D

If I have a gmail and a yahoo account, I can only get gmail to "push" email to me, right? So which account should I set up with the Sense UI widget? I was hoping to consolidate the 2 accounts and just have all my yahoo mail forwarded to gmail to take advantage of the push.
