hi guys unfortunately i have bricked my phone or appears this way at least. i was playing reckless racing 2 and phone locked up for some reason so i held power button to reset and when phone boots up it just hangs on samsung screen (STAYED ON SCREEN FOR OVER HOUR). On the bright side phone was purchased at wally world and since got it feb 1st they exchanged it with out questions. However i am worried to root or do anything to new phone yet because of this. Is it just bad device to lock up on game quite often or is it maybe something i did that might have provoked it. i admit i often download apps just to try them out and maybe was the omen that killed my phone :(. Any who any one have an idea what i did. i can list the apps that were on phone at the time it happened if needed. Thanks everyone

yeah i have a new phone just activated it a few minutes ago...as for restoring back to stock with odin i wish i had luck because that was first thing i tried it just kept hanging at samsung screen after boost mobile icon. i am gonna root the new phone and maybe slack off putting so many apps on it for now. also i didnt mention earlier but maybe had something to do with it i was messing with app yesterday called android tweaker and i clicked some settings on performance but it rebooted fine afterwards but maybe i changed something that wasn't suppose too so i will refrain from trying things i don't fully understand. Thanks

Were you running OC kernel? and if so which one?

Were you rooted before and what ROM were you running or were you just rooted with Stock?

This was most likely the reason. Be EXTREMELY careful playing with these apps if you don't know what the settings mean. Google the setting you are tryng to play with before hand next time.

Now you know, and you got a new phone :)

animania260- Were you running OC kernel? and if so which one? it was just the stock root with no o/c kernel. Were you rooted before and what ROM were you running or were you just rooted with Stock? was using the [OUDHS] Clockworkmod Recovery 6.0.1.9. also was reading that power save mode on my phone causes games and resource intense apps to freeze up so not using it any longer. i will not be doing any "TWEAKING" to this one with apps i dont understand. :D thanks again have a blessed weekend

Hi, I'm new here, I have a samsung galaxy rush SPH M-830, Phone stuck in download mode. Tried to flash back to stock with odin, but get this error, invalid PIT magic. Use default PIT. Does anyone know where I can download the PIT file? Thank you.

You shouldn't mess with the PIT button. Just the PDA one, it should look like this:
Odin_zps3938b740.png

and make sure that you are flashing the RECOVERY in odin, not the ROM itself. Use CWM to flash the actual ROM.

Stuck in bootloader. Can seem to get odin to work. Samsung Galaxy Rush. Does anyone have a link for the pit file to me phone. I keep getting the error message "invalid pit magic" use default pit. Thanks again.

Give me a few minutes and I'll see if I can pull mine for you

Update: Do you have the ClockWorkMod recovery installed? If not download it and flash it using odin using the same settings as the picture I showed you earlier, except the file will be different.

Do you have root?

Well, thank you for your help,I had root, but now that my phone won't boot, I don't have. I tried adb shell but it gives me an error message.

can you get into recovery? holding down the down volume and power? If you can, just flash the Stock ROM or the PartyTime JBS one. but make sure you wipe the system/factory reset AND wipe the delvick before you flash the ROM, it will take a while to boot the first time, but it should work. If you are still having the PIT issue I'll see what I can do to help, it would be easier if you went into the OUDHS chatroom to get faster help

I hate to say it but you're stuck in limbo. I had the same exact situation. Odin recognised the phone but couldn't get anything to stick and can't boot into recovery. I was lucky that best buy were totally clueless as to what was going on with my phone. They thought I was getting an update. I spent 12 hours overnight trying and googling until I was blue. My suggestion is to try and hard brick it so it doesn't come on at all and return it if you can or play dumb and act like you don't know what happened.

either that or if someone could walk me through pulling it off of my phone, he might be able to put it back on his using that pit option in Odin
