Root Jelly Bean Update won't install D:

So, I own a Droid Razr Maxx and as the title suggests, I can not get jelly bean to update.

So, the phone is/was rooted. I wiped it to factory and I still have the custom boot screen and some custom icons. Is this the cause of the problem? Either way, can someone help me get rid of them? Thanks.

Not sure what went wrong, I just updated mine via OTA. I'm rooted, running safestrap, and didn't temp. unroot before taking the OTA, and all that happened was it updated and lost root. Got root back using razrblade, no issues, everything working. you may have gotten a bad download, try it again.

I had the same issue. My Razr Maxx was rooted and I even went as far as uninstalling all the bloatware. At the time I didn't realize that doing so will make upgrading my phone hard. After much anticipation Jelly Bean was finally pushed out to me only to fail on me during the install. After some research, I figured out that I had to install the stock ICS ROM back on and upgrade from there. I used Matt's Root utility version 1.82 and had ICS back on in about 15 minutes. Once I had ICS, I was able to update my phone without a hitch. Running JB and loving it.

Follow these instructions to get Matt's utility. 1.82. Make sure that you have the right driver for your phone.

-Install Drivers
-Boot phone in AP fastboot
-Connect phone to your computer using USB (make sure USB debugging is turned on)
-Run Matt's Utility and select option 1 to Restore ICS OTA version 6.16.211

Follow instructions on the screen. So easy even a caveman can do it!

Once you have ICS, go to the settings menu in your phone and check for update. Download JB and enjoy!

I removed some apps with titanium backup, an it gives me a verification error on the update. Looks like I'm going to have to use Daves RAZR program an reset ICS before I can update to JB

Sounds like a plan. At least you'll have a fresh, clean install to update onto, and that, quite frankly, is a good way to start.

Please help

I've been working on this for two days now.

I have/had rooted Droid Razr Maxx with Jelly bean

I did do the SQLite Editor to hack the Wifi-hotspot

I've used superSu to unroot

I've factory data reset

It will not update to the new Jellybean nor can I do it through what seems like the best way

I select 2 and it doesn't work so I tried 1 numerous times and it gives me this screen and then when I hit enter my phone doesn't reset like it says it will
