Sweep to wake works fine. Do you think that screenshot apk could affect sweep to close? That's what's odd is now it works one way but not the other. I did enable screenshot in aroma.

Its not a huge deal. Could always accomplish the same thing through a power toggle. Was just nice to not have to use the space in power toggles and save wear on the power button.

I had a long discussion with Negamann before he enabled the screenshot in this thread. Go back a page or so and read a little bit of it.

Have you tried to change your endpoints? With the default screenshot enabled, it's best to sweep from menu to search rather than from home to search. Kernel Tuner lets you change the end points. Try that and let us know.

Flash this and it should work fine. make sure s2w in kernel tuner misc setting is: Start = Home, End = Search. and you're set :)

If you enabled built in screenshot, There's a chance it conflicts with s2w. you can always delete Mysketcher.apk from /system/app then reboot to see if that solves the issue. Kernel tuner also takes care of s2w settings

I'm looking into the handcent issues. I did a logcat of the close, but it still doesn't make sense as to why it just closes. It worked then just stopped and I didn't even touch any files that would affect it.

Guessing that would remove the screenshot option? Not sure if it is worth the tradeoff.

It won't, it lets you successfuly have both :) It's just the kernel repackaged again

Hang on. If that's nothing more than Buttered Toast in a zip, you need to make sure you DISABLE S2W in the Aroma install options. If not, Buttered Toast will disable the screenshot feature. I discovered this long ago when I was running Mobster HD.

Unless Negamann has made it such that Buttered Toast is unable to disable the screenshot feature, it won't work unless you:

1. Disable S2W in the Aroma install for Buttered Toast
2. Go into Kernel Tuner and then enable S2W after reboot

EDIT:

Did you see my post above about changing the end points?

Actually It's auto enabled in this kernel release ;) It's the kernel setup from my rom, It's also for people who wanted a different kernel setting from the rom.

On a side note, The screenshot enable/disable feature in my rom is now dynamic. If Mysketcher.apk is not present in /system/app it will set the screenshot setting to false :)

Ah, so you've played around with S2W and screenshot incompatibility? I told you my workaround, but I am curious as to what you did; did you add a delay to the screenshot? Are you saying that we can now S2W from home to search, and take the default screenshot of pwr + home? Or do the endpoints still need adjusting?

You should no longer need a workaround. It should use both perfectly. It's working fine on my phone as I type :)

I did flash that repackaged kernel to test.

Flashed the zip. S2W works both ways now. Screenshot also took. Rebooted the phone the first time when I tried to open the pic in gallery. After reboot tried the screenshot and looking at it again and had no issues. Odd thing is some of the speed and smoothness that it felt like I had lost after a couple of updates seems to be back as well now. Could totally be a placebo but i'll take it :^)

Good :) Do me a favor, what kernel option did you choose and what is the max clock speed in kernel tuner?

I wanna know if it actually did the job or just flashed the original kernel.

If you have a max of 1728 and didn't choose maxed overclock, then I have something wrong in my kernel installer haha

I chose max and it says goes up to 1728. I usually keep it around 1536 but always choose the max to have options ;^)

ahh ok no help then haha. I'll flash with a different setting to test.

For future flashes: If you aren't happy with the battery life, the relaxed setting will give you over a day of battery, with of course the lack of performance, it still runs very smooth though :)

NVM kernel flash does what it's supposed to :)

I don't usually stress about battery life because most of the time between work and home I am near a charger. 1536 seems to be just about the right balance for performance and battery life for what I need.

Sorry didn't choose the lower setting for you :^)

Same here. always a charger around. :)

It's ok. It wasn't hard to flash haha

I didn't add a delay

What I did is have ro.htc.framework.screencapture set to true after the rom is completely booted

WOW, you've done something that nobody else could do, or perhaps I should say, cared to do. Is a second flash of the kernel needed, or did you release an r-version that takes care of it? I've switched to another ROM to test something out, but I am eager to move back to your ROM.

If you recall, I had some overheating issues which just popped up (never had a heat issue with your ROM before) and also my battery drains with quite a steep curve. This morning, I woke up to a dead phone. I must admit, the alarms went off for awhile before I hit snooze, and I've circled the point where the alarm sounded in the two pictures below. You can see that the screen turned on for the alarms...but that's not a big deal. What is a big deal to me is how a 3400 mAh battery dropped so quickly.

The discharge curve is just too steep IMHO for a phone that's supposed to be sleeping. I checked my "time in state" pie chart in Kernel Tuner, and 75% of the time I was at 384 MHz...so I don't think this is related to processor voltage. Something is draining the battery FAST. I should also point out that during the charge that lead up to those pictures, the battery got up to 50 degrees C. My LED was flashing amber/green so I unplugged it and was able to get the battery to cool down pretty quickly.

So for now, I am going to run another ROM for a few days to rule out hardware (battery, processor, thingamajig). Any ideas are welcome :)

In the latest version of kernel tuner, there is a sysctl option now

4 settings you can change to give you amazing battery life:

vm.dirty_ratio = 90
vm.dirty_background_ratio = 70
vm.swappiness = 60
vm.vfs_cache_pressure = 10

Setting kernel.panic to 10 may fix that battery drop as well

Watch performance go bye-bye, but it still runs somewhat smooth

I've known of these settings, but like I said, performance is the whole point of the rom

So does my discharge curve look normal given the default settings?
It's hard for me to imagine discharging that fast over a 6 hour period of time (3400mAh) while the phone is sleeping. I hope it's not the battery. If Mobster HD discharges like that tonight, I'll swap batteries and test again.

That doesn't look right at all. especially during sleep. it should last forever on a sleep. it should lose 1-2% every 1-3 hours on a sleep. That doesn't even seem right while awake to be honest.

Here is a friends battery life on relaxed settings (r39)

Also Make sure to turn off wifi when you aren't using it. that definitely will save you battery
