I followed these instructions to perfection and it bootlooped. and i had to reset and wipe my sd card because my backup was nowhere to be found. awesomee.

No, i did but for some reason there was only my older backup, not my most recent.

This is why I never flash kernels. I don't like overclocking, kills battery. Good luck on your boot loop lion rain.

Anyways I wanted to report the partial awesomeness that this ROM is. Haven't experienced many major freezes as when I was on CR 1.4; I've only had 2 freezes so far and only happen when Ama in messenger app when my phone is called. Am on experimental from 03-16-13. I actually flashed the 03-11 or 03-13. This ROM is way better then BB7 and doesn't have the Bluetooth problems other JB ROMs have had. Love the tweaks you can do.

Also tested the sphere mode camera apk from XDA and other sites with no luck. My camera app will freeze when switching from sphere mode to regular camera and then after that I can't connect to camera(so I have to reboot). Only problem with this ROM is the slow camera. The no. 4.2.X camera. It takes too long to open which ruins those extremely low odd moments in life.

After more random restarts and another freeze and battery pull I decided to go back to 1.3 and stick with that.

So my power button doesn't work on tonights nightly. I can't turn on\off my screen. The button works to turn the phone on but not while the phone is on

Just curious, which nightly are you guys referring to? The 03-18 or 03-19? Was about to flash the one I got last night (03-19).

The 18th and 19th have power button issues. 17th works fine

I was on the stock JB (rooted with twrp) , i downloaded Carbon nightly 3-20-13 from goo manager also the gapps (actually the file said aokp ) and when i tried to flash it and reboot it left me to a black screen. Nothing works, i cant get into recovery or anything. Plz help

Edit: i just downloaded 320 carbon nightly from goomanager and it does not say aokp? Do you have the link to the gapps you downloaded?

I only dl roms from direct links, not apps for this very reason :/

The only app I will use is, even though it isn't stable, is Goo but more times than not it will leave you with a download that didn't fully finish even though your phone tells you did.

So I will either compare the DL size to that of what Goo has it listed as or I will just use my PC and transfer the damn thing.

5 bucks says there is something else not being said here that actually caused the brick. Zolo you try to exit recovery with a zip?

No it won't. But it's aggravating to download a 160mb file to have it geek out at 150. Then there's the md5 error that isn't actually an error. Idk why or how goo geeks out and had this issue. Couple refreshes will load the Rom but it can also be aggravating. But I only dl zips from goo if it's pertinent. I'll just wait till I get home.

good to know that about goo but for me ive never ever had a bad download from goo.....yet i agree with shabby.

Edit: seems they started to work with our variant so never mind the kernel theory

anyways im merging this thread with the already posted thread about the carbom rom for the our gs3 device.

Just updated to the 03-20 exp and it seems that the power button is disabled/not working. Flashed 2 times and same problem. Went back to 03-16/17.

The gapps i downloaded for this rom from goo was named AOKP-CI3Kener-Build1 . 1 -Hercules.zip

Atleast that was the gapps file that goo manager downloaded for me. After i flashed that Zip it bricked my phone. I just came back from metro pcs , I had to tell them the JB Update bricked my phone to have the replace it.

Lol that's no gapps let me go ahead and let u know all gapps will say gapps on it seems your new at flashing gapps and such so that's understandable I'm really sorry for your mishap this is a good thing for people to read so they don't go through the same issue you went through. So bottom line folks if it don't say gapps don't assume it is. Also concerning another thread if it isn't for metropcs variant the schr-530m do not flash it seems people are also flashing things from LG and have also bricked their devices anyways good luck bud and I know we will see u back in action with us soon enough.
