Using Bluetooth to stream to car audio system?

Hey everyone, I'm looking to get a new double din head unit for my truck and hoping to find one that allows Bluetooth streaming with my galaxy nexus.

Anyone have a head unit in their car that they stream Bluetooth with using their nexus? Looking to stream Pandora specifically.

Before you get a unit primarily to stream BT audio, please make sure that your GNex is able to actually stream BT audio. After the update to JB, a lot of people (including me) have had issues with the BT radio.
(my issue finally got resolved with a custom ROM - but a lot of folks who are using the same custom ROM are indicating that BT isn't working for them)

First thing is make sure that the headunit supports Bluetooth audio (the A2DP protocol specifically). Not all Bluetooth capable headunits do. They may only support Bluetooth as a voice communication device (my Kenwood in particular).

I just checked the Sony unit I'm looking at and it does support Bluetooth audio. I wasn't aware of this. Thanks for the heads up, I appreciate it.

Yeah, its my only buyers remorse about mine (I wasn't fully aware of that fact at the time). But its spectacular in every other way (the actual Bluetooth voice functionality is pretty damn good and had no issues with both my Eris and GNexus). So I decided to just suck it up and stick with AUX. Or plug my old iPod in.

They have a newer revision that does support Bluetooth audio (its identical in every other way). Makes me wonder if this one could be hacked to do so, provided there was no hardware change.

I replaced my Double Din head unit with a single din Kenwood Excelon KDC-X796 CD Receiver. Works great with my stock GN currently with 4.2.2. Streams BT audio (TuneIn, Songza, Google Music, or on device media, plus has its own Pandora source that makes using Pandora easy (runs a Kenwood Pandora app), front usb aux, hands free phone, downloads phone book, and more. No wires, no fuss, GNexus stays in my pocket. Sometimes it take a 20-30 seconds to start playing automatically.

The single din comes with a cubby hole to fill the double din opening. Also added much better than original stock speakers with some Polk coaxial speakers and I'm asking myself why did I wait so long.
