Root [T-Mobile] Any ROMS that Smoothen Note 2 Performance?

I simply don't make excuses, or pretend problems don't exist, simply because I own a device. I'm very vocal about the issues to try and fix them, but threads get derailed by people claiming the problem 'does not exist' when it, in fact, does.

hey dreamliner... i found a rom for the note 2 called Omega ROM.. it looks very good but i dont know if it can install on a tmobile note 2 from the USA.. i got to find out about this before i decide to buy a note 2.

Please re-read this post, and the Site Rules too.

My fellow-mods have shown remarkable restraint. I otoh don't believe in third chances - ANY continuation of the personal attacks, childish bickering or general rudeness seen previously will earn the offender(s) an enforced leave-of-absence from AF.

I don't think it's as simple as that. I just think some people are less sensitive to "lag" or framerate variations. I am, personally, very OCD about juddering when using a device, and it bugs me when it happens. But aside from the odd occasion on a "heavy" webpage or occasionally Google Maps, I really don't notice lag when using the Note 2. That said, I haven't had my device long and I don't download many apps, so perhaps this is why.

Yeah I think some people, like me, did not notice certain lag until others point it out. I did not notice there was a lag when waking up the device. After I read it, and I tried it a few times and sure enough it was there. Does it bother me, not after a few tries. I did go back to the iPad and see if there is any and there was none.

As for scrolling, I really don't see any lag at all no matter what on the stock touchwiz. And for Facebook, yes it is very buggy. But I think it has to do with the Android app. Pictures sometime takes a while to load and sometime it will show No Internet Connection when the app first started. I really don't know if it is an Android thing, a Note II thing, or just a Facebook app thing. I just know that the Facebook app works a lot smoother on the iPad which I also own.

As for OP's question, I remember reading some thread on here saying about some kind of setting on some launcher that will make scrolling "Lightning Fast". If OP is concern about scrolling performance, maybe it is something to look into.

Since the just of this thread discusses info about Rom and the availability of them for performance, I have moved this the the TM ATR section, this way you can talk as much as you want about Roms here. If anyone has an issue with this either report the thread or drop me a quick line and we can discuss. ;)

Personally I have been running the Jedi Master Rom for the NOTE 2 on T-mobile. They have some good performance tweaks and they have an overclocked kernel (1.5 to 1.9). I have not experienced much lag at all if any. I also get about a day to a day and a half out of my note two with over 6 hours of screen on time, 2 hours of calling, and light use gaming.

I have tried almost every ROM from stock, custom touchwiz ROM's, CM 10.1 etc.. The best ROM for ME at least as I can only comment on what I have observed and how my device responds as no 2 devices react the same or so I have read. SlimBean 4.2.2 is fast as hell and excellent on battery with Devil Kernel. Getting 6 hours screen time with a couple hours on call, all data no WiFi without have to sacrifice any performance by uv and have it set 200-2000 and again going above 1600 and uving -25, -50 and so on I have read on our devices don't really matter like it did on the older devices, so I have read from different Kernel cooks, some say it does, some say doesn't, go figure. Yeah you lose some Samsung stuff like SNote and the keyboard with top number row and the ability to use the spen to write text/email messages but someone posted an lg keyboard with number row, 1 hand function, and ability to have the write pad works just like the stock keyboard and is themeable. I for one missed the stock keyboard the most. You can also buy an app called gmd spen control which allows you to set up gestures for apps and functions. Now that those 2 are usable on a CM build i would never go back as with a CM build it is so customizable and fast, and so small footprint, SlimBean is like 100 megs and with Devil, CM the vibration/audio is now loud, my ROM is complete. Also the ROM has themes available to buy or some do free, as i love the blackedout look. Here is the link of the SlimBean thread.
