The way I look at it is Leslie kept just enough of Sense to keep the Rom completely functional and cleaned out the rest. She shoots for a release grade product and knows when she is there and stops. I imagine there is a list of silly things that could be changed, but the user can do that. I ran Harmonia 2.x on an OV for months without a hiccup. I would not be surprised to find out that a lot of OV owners followed her here since last June.

I am running Harmonia now with Mac 3.7 at its default settings and the M7 Google now mod from XDA. I am still not sure that I like Google Now because yesterday I went to a supermarket one mile from my home and it gave me directions to drive home from someplace three miles away that I had not visited that day. Obviously a limit of AI and not Harmonia, but good for a laugh.

That is pretty close to it.
I've described it before as "the rom Virgin should have released".

I don't try and put everything including the kitchen sink, it's not a Cadillac, it's not a Ferrari, it' a Honda Accord. Super reliable, everything you need, nothing you don't and fast enough. Though that is arguably a bad analogy in some ways because my Accord left me stranded more than any other car I've owned, including two BMW's and several very old pickups. :p

I do updates as needed, usually just to update or tweak something I think could be better, like had the voicemail update been worth keeping (I hate it), it might have triggered an update, which would have had some other very minor changes as well. Otherwise, once the rom works really well, I try not to mess with it too much. Not just because there is only so much I can do, but it strays from the point and can destroy the reliability. Some people just want to use their phones, not play with roms or tempt fate, which is why many use Harmonia during the week, and play on weekends with the "latest and greatest".

As for users following me, yes, several people did go buy Evo V's almost right away, some because of my rom and for others it was just a selling point when they went to upgrade. Many users are extremely loyal to the dev of their favorite roms. Personally, I don't like the idea of putting that much faith in one person's ability, particularly mine.

Which is another reason for not including a ton of mods, despite what many think, I don't have the skill some of these others have. While I can do some things other devs can't, they can do a lot I can't. I'm not a coder, I can research, file swap, tweak this or that to achieve my goals, but really digging into code and writing tweaks, that's their realm.

Any intention of updating to include the changes made in the march OTA update? Negamann has uploaded vanilla stock rom rooted/and unrooted that features the updates here;

I have given up on adding the home brew Google Now by flashing a zip. It might work better on some of the roms where it is baked in from the start.

To get Google Now on Harmonia I flashed mikeyxda_v7_Offline.zip and it gives me the same functionality I have found in roms that have it included. It works great with no hang ups, maybe Leslie Ann will include it in the next version. Anyways just google mikeyxda_v7_offline.zip you should have no problem finding the file. GreyCelt helped me figure this out a little while back.

I did not use that exact file and also thought the battery drain was excessive. Then I added the meanrom 3 modified velvet.apk which is supposed to reduce polling and things went wrong. I don't know why the modified velvet.apk does not work for me because it is used in the Midnight rom.

Aside from that, the version of Google Now that works on ICS is something like two updates behind current and it often pushed out some strange cards. I may give it another try without the meanrom 3 mod.

Leslie Ann, are you planning on incorporating the changes in the latest System Update into Harmonia? Is there any danger in installing them ourselves directly?

This is a complex question. part of the update is firmware which has nothing to do with the rom. The other part does go into the rom and some developers are incorporating bifs of it, but I have not seen any specifics. I am surprised at how fast some are jumping on it, because there is a large question in my mind as to whether this update is beneficial to the user, or if it is mainly to manage network traffic for Sprint's benefit or make going S-Off more difficult.

As mentioned, a lot/most(?) of the update is firmware.

I'm looking into it but based on what I've read, the only thing I am really interested in is the improved messenger. I want to test connection optimizer or whatever it's called before I commit to it, especially after that Visual Voicemail update, which I HATED.

I also have some other minor tweaks waiting for the next update, but overall, there is nothing pressing that needs fixing which is why I haven't done it yet.

I have a lot of work to do this weekend and next week, so don't get too excited.

I've had problems lately in which I lose 4G connectivity and have to turn it off and back on manually in order to get it back.

Could this be related to changes they've made in the network related to the new System Update? Might this force the need for incorporating at least some of the changes into Harmonia?

Poor Leslie. I honestly feel bad for her. Everyday people come on here and ask her to add this tweak or that feature.

That's not what this ROM is about. Like she has said in the past. She put this ROM out as a improved stock ROM. "What virgin should of released"

If you want a feature from a certain ROM. Add it yourself. Appreciate the hard work she put into it. Enjoy it for what it is..

A fantastic reliable ROM.

I still keep a backup of this ROM on my SD CARD. Whenever I go out of town on business of vacation I always revert to Harmonia.

Why ...... Because I know it works perfectly. Not the fastest. But speed isn't everything

Every tweak and change to Harmonia is calculated, I don't just add any and everything.

Is it something that benefits everyone? Is it difficult to add later? Will it cause problems? Is it compatible with all firmware? Does it create problems for S-on users? If any of those have an answer of "No" it gets removed or never included in the first place.

Yes, it's bare-bones, but that is exactly the point and why it works like it does. While a lot of users prefer this (like me), there is an even larger group of users like Nsciucco who keep it as a backup, because they can always count on it.

Of all the roms I have flashed I always end up going back to Harmonia. It's like coming home. It's stable, familiar, and every thing just works as it should.

is this rom as close to stock as possible? or is there a actual stock rom i am missing + root.

I'm trying to access the hidden menu via the dial pad. so i need a almost completely stock rom to do so.
mobs's wont work for this purpose.

As far as I know, this rom should work fine for dialer codes. Any stock based rom should. But to answer your other question the stock rom can be found here: http://androidforums.com/evo-v-4g-all-things-root/560846-rom-evo-v-4g-stock-rom-deodex-odex.html

Grab the odex version. Basically it's stock with superuser added. Possibly has bloatware removed.
