Dont know where else to put this so I'll give this a shot in here.

I'm looking to upgrade from a ROKR to the Incredible so I currently do not have any kind of data plan. I have an old Alltel plan that doesnt compare with what Verizon offers. Is it possible to upgrade, keep my minutes and lower rate, while still adding a verizon data plan?

Adding to this, is it possible I could add a line on top of this without having to switch over fully to a verizon plan? Trying to convert my wife from getting an iPhone to getting the iNcredible.

May have already been answered by the time I type this, but this is similar situation to mine...except I want the Inc and wife wants to keep her ROKR. You should be able to add the 29.99 data plan to you Alltel plan without switching to Verizon plan. This is what I have been told by co-workers (8) who all bought the Droid by Motorola a few months ago. I would assume the same is true now. Some of them purchased in Verison stores, some at BB.

Hope that helps.

This has never made sense to me. When I log onto my account I don't see this kind of discount. One of my phones is eligible for the NE2 but the only thing I see is the 2year price ($299.99) and an online discount of $100 ONLY having me pay $199.99.......where can I see the NE2 discount? I always figured that the NE2 discount was the 2year contract priced in? I would love to pay only $99.99 for my new phone. Thanks!

Interesting, my phone is the primary, I'm 6 months past my NET date, but my NET discount is only $50.

I can't input on the supply vs deman history on phones like this, however I will be calling the store the day before to verify stock, and then getting there 4-6 hours before opening just to be sure. I'll probably ride by earlier than that, then wait in my car until/unless I see others lining up outside. :)

That sounds like a failproof plan :) DINC-DAY I will be waking up very early or who knows maybe Verizon stores will be opening Midnight. I already requested the day off at work :)

lol I mean that I had like 500 emails from androidforums in my gmail that I have to filter through...or report as spam

I feel your pain LOL. I had around 200 emails the past few days from Androidforum. My Moto Q9M was blowing up ... I thought I suddenly became popular but 90% of the emails coming in came from here haha. Hopefully the DINC can handle or group the emails better :)

No I follow....when you subscribe you can do instant, daily or weekly. Instant you receive individual emails for each post, daily one email with all the posts from that day, weekly one email with all the posts from that week.

Since there is so much posting in this thread daily or weekly is the way to go OR you can just keep up to date throughout the day.

Lol yeah, it takes incredible patience...you see what I did there?

Things can always change, but as of right now it seems our friends at Best Buy will have this bad boy in stock on April 25th, 2010.:)

Courtesy of: Akshun

Akshun/Anon, Can you please let us know when the inbound allocated is changed from 0 so we know how many each store will be getting? Also when it goes from 0 to new # in the Intransit so we know that they should be there in 5 or so days from when you post it? thanks,

I for one like the backplate. I know everyone says it's ugly as all get out, but it actually looks really good IMHO. Sets it apart from the smooth, rounded design of the iPhone, and looks really nice as VZW's next phone in the DROID lineup. They definitely took some design cues from Motorola. FWIW, I thought the DROID was a good looking phone also (save for the d-pad), which I know a lot of people hated. Also, given the thickness of the phone, I would be surprised if ridges on the backplate would have a huge impact on feel - they're pretty shallow. Aesthetically, they may have more of an impact, but that ultimately is a matter of opinion.

All the same, I would love to see some smoother backplates. The more people VZW can get on board, the more successful and the more of a priority the DROID Incredible will be (man, calling it that just feels weird now).

Ah, to each their own. I have a Droid now, and one of my primary reasons for disliking it is the overly-masculine, functional brick approach they took. They marketed it as such, so it was intentional. The Eris, by contrast, was a cheaper feeling rubbery blob.

I'd prefer something along the lines of the slick, high-end design aesthetic, like the Xperia (but with Sense instead of Sony's handiwork). But it's all opinion, and all made to target different demographics!

I'd go with that, as long as it's still about the Droid's weight / thickness. Perfect setup would be: flush / slightly recessed camera, 1750 maH or so batt., and a smooth backplate. One can only hope. (Seidio? Please?)

When they come out with those 3200 maH batteries that turn your phone into a brick, i generally laugh at the people who buy them.
Back in the day, I used a PPC-6700. Still have it in my drawer. All-up with an aluminum armor case and extended battery, it weighed... Runs to postage scale... 9.8 ounces! :D

Definitely don't want to go back to those days.

I hope it works out that way. Everytime I've gone in and just casually talked about changing phones, they immediately start talking about having to put me on a new verizon 59.99 for 900 mins plan while I have 1000 mins for 49.99 plus 5 F&F.

Same thing comes up when I discuss adding my wife. I'd let her use the ROKR and add a new line with the Incredible for myself. They always go straight to "well you'll have to have a verizon plan for that to work." Just hoping to run into some people like yourself that have experience with this issue.
