After a software upgrade like this, you need to do a reset-- back up your data, turn the phone off, then turn it back on while holding the volume-up button.

It took me a while to do the simultaneous trick.. I finally got it... You got to be very precise...

I am following the steps for Simple Upgrade Tool and am stuck at Step #7: Plug your USB data cable into your phone and PC. Device drivers will be installed. Do not unplug the USB data cable from the device. Once drivers are installed select Next.
The phone has been plugged in and on the "downloading" screen (see picture below) for about 30 minutes. I am assuming this is too long for this step. How do I safely return to the beginning of the process?
Additionally, the computer screen has shown the following during this time as well.

It took me a while to do the simultaneous trick.. I finally got it... You got to be very precise...
I'm not sure how much more precise I can press both of the buttons unless I used some sort of accelerometer instrumentation to measure the amount of vibration received at the same time. But it just is not working.
