$30 Plan Gone!?!?!?!?

That works, and leads to this question:

Just to save money, I cut my cable internet and tethered through Sprint. It was almost always just under 5GB and they didn’t care, but 3G made it rather pointless. So, if get a used Exhibit 4G and a SIM (mandatory, afaik), T-Mobile won’t care what I’m doing?

They've completely gotten rid of their old pricing scheme and have these new ones. These are their new postpaid plans, but are all non contact. All have unlimited minutes and unlimited texting, starting at 50 dollars for 500 mb of data at 4g, though unlimited past that point just throttled, 60 for 2.5gb, or 70 for totally unlimited unthrottled data. Through on the total unlimited plan, you have to add the tethering, but on the non unlimited tethering is included.

Found some interesting info today.
I logged into my account and check the change plan, it tells me im on the $30 plan that can only be activated on new sim card and its now a limited time offer, on may 2 2013 they are discontinuing it.

So if any one wants to switch now is the time.

If I'm not mistaken, the $30 plan is only available for new activations only. And if you have it, go to another plan and try to switch back, you can't.

I don't think that means they are discontinuing the $30 plan on 5/2. It means that your current plan cycle runs through 5/1 so any changes you make to your own personal plan will go into effect on 5/2.

They are also warning you that if you switch away from the $30 plan you won't be able to switch back, which has always been the case.

I have a question about the $30 1500 talk/text plan 30MB data

After you go over 30MB data, do they cut you off, or throttle speeds?

If you are interested in that plan, I think I'd suggest something like Lyca Mobile. They currently have Unlimited Talk with 100 MB high speed data (2G speeds after 100 MB) on the T-Mobile network for $29/month. Their other plan that looks interesting, for people who don't have a lot of usage, is 2 cents/minute talk, 4 cents per outgoing texts (incoming texts are free), and 6 cents per MB of 4G data.
