Before the update was issued that screwed EVERYONE, there WAS a working recovery. Things were in progress, and then people updated the phone, and pretty much killed it. I choose to get the Droid 3, because of the fact that i could freely make themes, and begin work on my first rom, because of AWESOME dev's. There is no restore method, there is no root, there are no roms being made, If you had the phone rooted before you updated and had the recovery flashed, you lose root with the update, but still manage to keep recovery, if you manage to brick the phone, flash a rom from the virgin mobile varient, they are the same devices, just a different hardware key placement. That way, you can use LG Mobile Updater Tool to flash the correct verizon version. It handles all the work for you. I wish everyone that purchased this device the best of luck. I would strongly suggest a different phone.
