[Verizon] CWMR or TWRP?

I still have yet to try TWRP, it looks really great though. I just like the simplicity of standard old school non-touch CWMR.

I've never had any problems with CWMR, plus its nandroid files are easily openable with 7zip/winrar. I like that too. I did have a bad rom flash once, but I think it was an error in the rom zip file.

I like TWRP and use it on my N4 and N7, and did so on my GNex. It really comes down to what your are comfortable with. I like the interface of TWRP. Big buttons. The ability to queue up to 10 zips concurrently. Name a nandroid before making it. And I find adb to work without hiccups.

I'll be honest, my favorite recovery ever was AmonRa based recoveries. Kinda never really liked CWM Recovery. Letting my bias show here. But back when AmonRa based recoveries were available, I always found it to be a more stable recovery. Again, this just all my 2

I've used both. CWMR just seems more solid to me. Try both and see what you like.

Right now I've been using CWMR touch, I've never had any problems with it. When I rooted/Rommed the Gf's Gnex last weekend I put on Twrp and I kinda liked it too, don't think Ill switch though cause they both work.

My complaint with touch CMWR is the buttons were too small and harder to use than necessary. It didn't have efficient use of the screen. Now that was maybe a year ago tho.

With twrp what button do we hit for s clean install...davlik, cache and system?

There isn't one button that does all that at once. Factory data reset does data and cache. The others have to be done manually.

There is now with the newest TWRP update.

You can go to advanced if you wish to go dirty and check cache and dalvik

Ok, I have updated my TWRP to 2.5.0.0 and when I go to advanced, I still cannot find the one click option to wipe data, cache, and system.

The cleanest wipe I know of is to wipe /data, /cache/, and /system.

And for the readers, IMHO, one wipe is all that's needed. Those that say you must 'wipe' these things three times, well . . . . just saying. Once you format a hard drive, do you do it over and over again?

So, TritonDroid, did I miss the one click in TWRP?

Further more, although I do like the bigger buttons in TWRP, I am going to go back to CWM since even though Rom Manager tries to work with TWRP, it does not do so nearly as well as with CWM. I can be booted into my Android system, open up RM, stack all my .zips, it will even ask to backup, then once I give it the "ok", set my phone down for a few. Later, I pick up my phone, and everything has been flashed, the phone is booted back into Android and as a plus the backup(s) is (are) easily useable with RM again. I say this last part because even though RM 'can' use TWRP, it doesn't like to restore the backups.

Sure, you can do this while booted into TWRP, sort of. But you have to first boot into TWRP, then you have to create the backup, then you have to do your wipes, then you to have stack your .zips, then you have to boot back into system. Too much trouble, unless you don't know how well to use RM.

Yes, I think you did but it was probably do to my lack of description.

From the Advanced wipe button you can check any, all or multiple of five things to wipe. System was one of the options. After that whatever is selected gets wiped with one click or swipe...

I use both TWRP and CWMR, both do a fantastic job, TWRP is more user friendly from my point of view, so I use it mostly, but have no issues using CWMR.
