Root Bloatware Removal

yeah, mine does too. i tried to switch to speaker while listening to a voicemail, and didnt realize that i had to let it play to the end before i can switch.

My speaker doesn't work after I use the stock visual voicemail, I have to do a full shutdown for it to work again. All my sounds come from the earpiece afterwards.
A bit of a pain, anyone else having this problem?

Removing contacts will cause the dialer to fc. You can remove MMS.apk and a few other stock HTC apps but not contacts, dialer, and on certain ROMs removing email.apk will cause camera.apk to fc. Any system apps removed need to be replaced in the system partition. Hope that answers any questions you might have.

Thanks.

Yep I realized after I posted above that the phone and contacts are tied in together. I left the stock HTC lockscreen because if you remove it, you get the stock ICS lockscreen but you have to unlock the screen before you can answer a call :)

So far I've replaced Calendar, MMS, Music, Clock, Calculator, and removed a good bit of the HTC bloatware. Getting stock ICS 'Settings' is another challenge I'm not sure is possible without fc's and not worth the trouble.

Still stumped with HtcLinkifyDispatcher.apk and how to get the normal default app handler prompt.

Last time I searched for it I could not find it... wasn't in play store... wasn't first few links I clicked... I have automatic backups of all my apps so I've been using an old version for over a year now... adfree updates the file every time the phone boots so blocked ad sites are always up to date...

However thanks for the link to the newest version : )

Hi.

Squerl, I'm trying to do something similar here.

I already moddified old.splatterhand's flashable JB Stock rom to remove a lot of apps to make it lighter, it's working great, but now I want to "desensify" this rom.

I managed to replace some apps, like the browser, calc, calendar, gallery, camera etc... by switching the apk's in the system/app folder of the rom.zip, but some other ones are a little tricky.
For example, JB keyboard is working perfectly if installed afterwards, but it FCs if I put it directly in system/app, or if I move it there once the rom is installed.
It's about the same thing for sms/mms apps, email.

Do you guys have any advice or any good forum topic for me ?

Same problem with the lockscreen if I remove the HTC one, but Holo lockscreen seems to work ok, fyi.

Thanks a lot !
