Help Streaming Over Wireless LAN?

Several ways. If your NAS has streaming built in using DNLA/uPNP (most have) then a good app for the Nexus 7 is the one I use, MediaHouse, which does what you require and much more. It has its own music player but requires an external video player, for which I use MX Player.

It all works very well on the Nexus 7, better in some ways than on my full sized counterparts.

If you have no streaming software on the NAS you can use ES File Explorer and use it to locate the media file on the NAS share (it supports all sorts of networks) then just play it - ES provides its own streaming server to make the content available to the player. You'll still need something like MX Player of course.

Less elegant than using MediaHouse but perfectly workable.

Archos video player is also good, it provides its own metadata for films as well
You need the plug-in for some films depending on their codec

I have a Nexus 7 non-rooted with stock firmware, WiFi connected to my Netgear WNR3500Lv1 router running DD-WRT v24 sp2 firmwear. A USB HDD that I use as a NAS is connected directly to my router.

Is there a way to stream audio/video directly from my NAS to my N7?
