Hey gang, it seems that in all my messing around, and with my computer dying (again) I lost a BUNCH of files for all the devices I work on. So, here's what you can do to help: First, I need the radio from the latest update, J9 I believe. The easiest way for you to help would be to use the modem backup tool I posted to backup your radio partitions. Then, you can either unzip it and give me JUST the modem, which is the large file, maybe called Modem.bin or NON-HLOS.bin or let me have the zip as-is. Thanks for helping!

Btw,how to convert radio on modem.bin into .tar so we could easily flash it thru Odin?
I got LJ8 modem & looking for LH1 modem.

Thanks,

If you have Linux it's not real hard, just a couple commands. But I don't think it's even possible with Windows. I suppose if you install Cygwin, which is like a virtual Linux shell, you could do it using these commands:

[HIGH]tar -c modem.bin NON-HLOS_LJ8.bin

md5sum -t NON-HLOS_LJ8.tar >> NON-HLOS_LJ8.tar[/HIGH]

Of course, some common rules apply here: The command prompt must exist in the working directory (the folder the modem is in) for it to be this simple, otherwise you have to type the paths in also.

If running Windows wouldn't a linux Live CD/USB work for using linux comnands on android? Just a thought.

Yep, that's a perfectly good way to do it. I don't mess with live CDs so it didn't come to mind. Thanks for offering a good alternative. If anyone would like to know more about that, they can join the IRC and someone would guide them through it.
