Anyone in UK got 4.1.2 yet?

Clearing google framework buggered up my google play store updates. I repeatedly got this error [rpc:aec:0], tried lots of fixes incl clearing play store data etc. The only thing that eventually worked was deleting the account and reinstalling it. PITA!
Yeah same here, it caused a google play crash for a while, seems to be ok for now.

Ironically I can't seem to get the (new 50mb) update to work via KIES (I'm already on 4.1.2). The KIES program crashes midway during the update process. What a pile of crud.

OTA doesn't yet come up with an update, just a message saying 'update is given in the order it's been requested' or some crap.

Ironically, since I cleared my Google framework thing (sorry, I'm not so technical lol) my note 2 is not showing as one of my devices on the play store on the laptop! I have been assured that it will reappear at some point but until then I won't be able to push apps from the laptop to my phone. Just a word of warning to anyone else who tries it.

Yeah I thought mine had stopped responding but I remembered the last time I updated it did the same. Just leave the pc to do its thing, it will get there in the end :)

Agreed.

The problem is that the Kies updating software is not informative and there are long periods when one does not know what is happening.. When I tried it on an XP machine, I too got the impression that it had crashed after about 5 minutes. However, it did eventually work when tried to update on a Vista PC. Afterwards, I realised that it might actually have worked on the XP-PC as well if I had given it more time when, to all intents, it seemed to have crashed.

To explain a bit further. During the first 5 minutes everything seemed OK in that there was a message initially saying that it is preparing the update and then a progress bar appeared for downloading software. When it reached 100% the message did not change for about 4 minutes and nothing seemed to be happening when the message panel suddenly disappeared. The main Kies screen was grayed out and the Windows Task Manager showed Kies as

I left it sitting in the greyed out 'crashed/not responding state' (this is after it had downloaded the firmware to 100%) sitting for at least 20mins on one the tries I made using Kies yesterday.

I'll try it again, but how long are u guys reckoning it should take from 1st click to completion?

I cannot say exactly because I left it whilst I did something else but it was less than an hour.

well 90mins later and still no movement. 100% crashed KIEs program as I suspected all along.

Irony or Irony now it's gone past 12am, I've checked for the OTA update for the millionth time today, and it's now available to download

Must be because it's past 12am and it's now 'my turn' as it were

Congratulations, persistence pays!:)
