Root P.A.C.MAN Update

After floating around the web and seeing about the youtube blackscreen issue not just from pacman but other 4.2.2 JB roms as well, I think that might just be a problem with the youtube app itself. So there's pretty much nothing we can do about it until google fixes it.

Latest is 4.3.9 so maybe an older youtube version won't have the problem.

Not just a problem with YouTube, it also occurs to me in MXPlayer. I cannot bring up the controls. Its something to do with video playing.

Ah okay, I haven't tried other players. Are there any other quirks you found?

Other than the video thing (which isn't a major thing) everything seems to work fine. The artifacts in video recording seem to be fixed by recording in landscape, and that was the other of my nagging quirks. One thing I did notice missing in the latest build was the instant quick pulldown. The one where you didn't have to pull on the edges of the statusbar to get quicksettings. Not a big deal though, these things are pretty minor.

I'm running the latest 4/09 Sprint build and I have some issue getting the cpu setting to stick. Set min clock to 486MHz using the Performance Control and upon reboot, it went back to 192MHz.

Download Kernel Tuner and I've noticed that changing the rom cpu in Performance control only change the cpu for one core. The cpu1 would stay at 192Mhz. I messed around and it only stick if I change the cpu clock in Kernel Tuner. Changing the cpu in Performance control would not make changes to both cores. sometimes only cpu0 would change and other times only cpu1 would change.

On my previous build the 4/08 one I had no such problems, changing cpu in Performance control would change both cores. Does it have to do with the differences in buttertoast vs cyanogen kernel?

I've noticed that phone was definitely running much smoother with the cyanogen kernel builds and also my emulator games ran great with the cyanogen kernel. With buttertoast I got some cracking sounds and stuttering frames...

Anyone else experience something similar or different? I'd like to hear. :)

Other than those, rom runs great as always.

You may want to update to the 4/10 version. It was released the day after, So there might of been problems with the 4/09 version.

Hmm. Actually, Im having issues flashing the 4/10 build.

4ext comes up with this:

Installing: /sdcard/ROMs/shooteru_PAC_JB_4.2.2-v22.1.0_20130410-173631.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "shooteru" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "shooteru"
E:Error in /sdcard/ROMs/shooteru_PAC_JB_4.2.2-v22.1.0_20130410-173631.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

EDIT: Nevermind. I downloaded the wrong version by accident.

Yeah shooteru is for GSM.

I clean flashed 4/10 Sprint build and it's running smooth.
However, upon installation of Kernel Tuner I went to Misc settings to set sweep2wake on and found that it's missing the USB OTG setting and also the Color setting where you can set 16bit, 32bit, or 64bit.

Maybe a reboot or app restart would fix it.

Thats weird. Seems to be showing up for me in kernel tuner.

Its supposed to change the color density/range. I never noticed a difference though.

Neither do I. But it's supposed to show more clarity the higher you choose but at the expense of battery consumption. Higher resolution screen=more gpu processing and higher power consumption. And actually it's 16bit, 24bit, and 32bit. Typo

Hmph I'm going to try this out. I'm not worried about battery consumption because I have two extended batteries so I can last a day and a half on moderate to heavy usage.

Latest 4/11 is running so freaking smooth. I love it, gonna stay with it until a major release. Can't keep up with cmb, he's like the negamann of JB lol

The latest Evo V release I see is for 4/10, am I missing something? I tried the 4/11 generic shooter ROM but was put in a bootloop.

The 4/10 Evo V release is working well for me...I do get some pretty significant slowdowns which are very noticeable when I'm typing something. The keyboard constantly misses keypresses which is extremely annoying. Other than that and the lack of HDMI out I'm very happy with the ROM, it's made some great progress.

You're right the latest VM release is the 4/10. I'm running the Sprint CDMA build 4/11. All you gotta do when running Sprint CDMA build on Evo V is flash the cm10.1 MMS fix (the one by go60madman has that and include the VVM fix as well).

It's odd that you got bootloop flashing the 4/11 Sprint CDMA build which works fantastic for me. It's smoooth and I encounter no slowdowns while typing and i don't have the problem with keyboard problem you mentioned.

Also this build has really good sound. It sounds fantastic now that there is no longer the need to flash Ac!d Mod.
