An update for UK customers.

Amazon UK:

Amazon finally got stock in of the silver HTC One 32GB on Fri 12th. Sadly, it sold out immediately as all stock had been allocated to everyone who had pre-ordered. There is no stock available at present and on their page it says -
Due to demand, there is limited availability on this product. Stock will be on offer as soon as it becomes available.

With regards to the black HTC One 32GB, it says -
Due to demand, we will ship stock for pre-order customers on or before April 26.
(I wouldnt be surprised if that date changes to May)

Clove:

If you're ordering from Clove they have also updated their page and for the silver HTC One 32GB it says -
Silver units currently have an approximate dispatch time of 14-21 days from date of order. All orders are being shipped in chronological order as soon as we have stock available.

Basically you'll get it 2-3 weeks from when you place your order. So if placed today you won't get it until end of April/beginning of May.

As for the black HTC One 32GB, it says -
Black units delayed until early May. Exact shipping date to be confirmed.

Handtec:

Delayed again. For silver HTC One 32GB, it says -
Further delay from HTC. Further stock expected week commencing 22nd/29th April 2013.

Black HTC One 32GB -
Further delay from HTC. First stock expected to be released end of April/early May 2013.

Delays, delays and more delays. If this is how tough it is for the UK market goodness knows how bad it is for everyone else! This is potentially my next phone. I'm 95% sure of it, but for HTC this is a disaster and a win for Samsung. You gotta feel sorry for them. Who's going to wait that long when you can just pop into a store on the 26th and pick up the S4 because it WILL be in stores. That is guaranteed.

Those dealers sell SIM-free, off contract phones, and have orders well exceeding their supply.

High-street stores do have them (not sure of stock levels) but will mainly be selling them on contract (worth more money to them, so common when phones are new and demand exceeds supply).

I don't have any official data, just my reading of what's reported, and experience of how these things usually work.

I've skimmed through most of the threads on here and haven't found the answers I'm looking for. I'm on AT&T and want the Black HTC One 64GB. I've gone in to several stores and talked to some reps. None of them have been able to tell me anything other that the Silver One is available for pre-order and the Black One should be available later, possibly on the 19th. So does this mean I will not be able to pre-order it and take advantage of the free media link?

Does anyone know if the Developer edition will be available in Black? Since I'm on AT&T and may want to root my One, this may be something I'm interested in.

If I can't pre-order the Black One, I may just pre-order the Silver 64GB One, and get the free media link. Then sell the Silver One for $500 bucks or so, and then just order the Developer edition if it's available in Black.

For those interested, I'm getting the Poetic Atmosphere Case. I REALLY like the look of the back of the phone and want to show it off. However, I've read the Black One picks up finger prints much easier. So the Atmosphere will offer great protection, while allowing me to show off this sexy phone!

Thanks! :)

From a quick glance at the specs, it will work for 2G and 3G in the UK but not 4G (none of the UK LTE bands are supported).

You need a US address to have it delivered to.

Thanks for your reply. Guess i'm just going to have to sit on my arse and wait it out. So annoyed the phone i want isn't available and no one knows when it will be!

Why not just buy the media link seperately.

According to this reply from Larry Meadows on the HTC blog, the developer edition is silver only: Introducing the HTC One Developer Edition — HTC Blog

An XDA member reported that the HTCDev bootloader unlock worked on an ordinary ATT One. Obviously I cannot guarantee this won't change, but the ability to root may be there anyway.

I don't think that you get S-Off with the dev edition, though it will be very interesting to confirm when people start getting them. In that htc blog post's comments the htc rep consistently answered as if the normal HTCDev unlock, which is not S-Off, was equivalent (though there was no hint there that ATT phones would be unlockable).

I'm just throwing out theories: I suspect that Verizon will probably get the HTC One when both the silver and black are available for sale, which means May. I'm surprised they've not announced new phones, because they usually announce something new by now for this time of year.

And yes, I'm another one who's going to be a first day release for the One if it comes to Verizon. I need a new phone soon; my original Incredible is kinda trying to die.

Just got an email today from Sprint. The email says they are offering $100 off any phone thru 05/09/2013. This bring the price down to $99.99 with 2 year contract. Before it was only for new customers, now it seems available to existing customers too. FYI for anyone considering this phone. Still deciding between this and the S4.

Can you link or quote it to confirm this? Have not seen this anywhere.

I e-mailed my sprint guy about it, but any more backup evidence would be awesome

Wondering if that's a regional thing, as I just tried to upgrade and the standard 199 came up for me. Personally, if I could get it at 99, it would be a no-brainer for me.

I got the same email. It is a Sprint Nascar email but it is poorly written:

"For a limited time, you can save up to $100 on any phone.
Get a new phone with Truly UnlimitedSM data with no metering, no throttling, and no overages all while on the Sprint network. It's the best way to stay on top of all the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series action."
If you click on the link to get 100.00 off it brings you to the same deal where you would have to switch to Sprint to get it. In the email if you read the fine print it says
"Port-in Instant Credit: Offer ends 05/09/2013. $100 instant credit applied towards purchase of qualifying Sprint phone or smartphone. May require port-in from an active number (wireless or landline) and activation at time of purchase."

Yes, thats the email I got. Now I guess I'm not sure if it will go thru. Waiting till around the 9th to see about the S4 and will make my decision then.

Edit. just chatted with Sprint. No deal on the extra 100 off unless you are a new customer bringing over your number. I still may get the phone as it may be sprint is only getting the 16gb S4 at first. I really don't want to wait.
