Root Acid Audio - Would it work?

I was looking for an audio booster for our phones. A flashable mod not an app because they don't work at all. I came across this over on XDA and wanted to know if it would work on our phones, or if maybe has something else that they use.

That should work on the Evo V as well as the Evo 3D, at least for AOSP based ROM's. I'm not sure about the current status for Sense based ROM's but there have been problems in the past and the beats and xloud mods seem to work better for them. Make sure to grab V13 as that has a fix for single channel output on headphones.

Some people in this forum have had success with the original AC!D V7 mod but I don't know if anyone has tried V8 yet or not. I've been using AwesomeBEATS V5 since the AC!D mods are too volatile for me. ;)

Yes this works with our phone, I have CM 10.1. It hasn't really been tested on anything beside JB so be careful installing on sense, but the audio sounds amazing with this mod flashed

Yes that works (I am using it right now with Dirty Unicorns, it sounds amazing)

Also AC!D audio mods conflict with some of the audio stuff that is built into sense based roms, so it only works on AOSP based roms, as it points out in the FAQ:

FAQ
Tested on CM10.1(Dastins)

Will not work on ANY sense rom(as far as i know)

May possibly work on a sense rom if you remove all HTC based EQ's/Audio services

acid 14 is out seems to work well

Sweet thanks for the heads up! :)

"May possibly work on a sense rom if you remove all HTC based EQ's/Audio service"

are these apk's that they are talking about? and if so can they be removed via something like titanium back-up perhaps?

i guess i should double check to see what audio my rom is running anyhow, before i get to carried away.

I believe they are talking about removing APKs, I dumped the stock ROM as soon as I got my phone so I'm not 100% sure. You would a root file browser to remove the APKs, I don't use Titanium so I don't know if it comes with a root browser. If so, yes you could use it. If not there are plenty of free root browsers you could install and then get rid of if you didn't need it.

Acid Audio is probably better than what you're using now. Audio mods are usually pretty good :)

I'm currently flashing Acid Audio v14 and there is an option to flash it if you are running a sense ROM. No guarantee it will work though. If it doesn't, you can always go with awesome beats which someone else mentioned earlier in this thread.
