Review of Hyperion 6200 mah extended battery and Case!! (More pictures to come)Work in progress.

Hello everyone, Im reviewing today the hyperion 6200 mah extended battery and case that i received from Amazon.

here are the links

Extended battery
Amazon.com: Hyperion Samsung Galaxy Note II 6200mAh Extended Battery + White Back Cover (Compatible with Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100, T-Mobile Galaxy Note II SGH-T889, Sprint Galaxy Note 2 SPH-L900, At&t Samsung Galaxy Note II SGH-i317, and Veriz

Case
Amazon.com: Hyperion Samsung Galaxy Note II Extended Battery HoneyComb Kickstand TPU Case Red: Cell Phones & Accessories

When i first was ordering the battery, i looked through the options, of course Mugen Extended batteries and Anker extended ones. Mugen of course was too expensive and i never even heard of Anker until of recently so i chose hyperion.I was skeptical at first considering this would be my first extended battery.
First Impressions and Designs
when i first opened the box to my surprise came with instructions, very kind for a new extended battery user on how to get the most out of the battery, it also came with a back plate, although it doesnt have any of the samsung or note 2 writing on it, it was good quality and didnt seem like it was made cheaply.
Let me add that this battery is MASSIVE, If youre not used to the added bulk now, you will be soon, I got used to it fairly quickly and in some ways its actually alot easier to hold than it was before!
Now the case is TPU, it feels very nice, but doesnt feel as it would be adequate for a solid protection. The kick stand is a nice touch since i use the phone for netflix ALOT and its nice and center.
Now this Case and battery does not interfere with the S pen and while it doesnt make it easier to pull the Spen out, it doesnt make it harder either. the Case with the phone and extended battery look kinda odd, but i dont think youre going to be buying this for design . ;) All the ports are easily accessible as planned and no interference with the connecting youre headphones to the audio jack. The volume and power buttons feel a bit transparent , as in i cant feel them on the case. but this is minor and doesnt affect the buttons when pressing them.
I have not Tried using NFC as theres no reason for me to use it, but it does work.(thanks to vertias4420 for reclarifying) its not a big deal if it doesnt work or not for me.
Performance

So I charged the phone , took a couple hours but it was half way charged, i decided to charge it anyway just in case and test it out. I recieved the battery around 7 EST on the 12th of april, charged and unplugged at 9:30 ish.

This battery is pure Nirvana! I have thrown everything at it, streaming netflix, hbo go, facebooking, instagram, simpsons tapped out , pen and paper ( a great homage to D and D i might add ;) ), downloading, emailing texting and calling on the phone. surfing pages upon pages upon PAGES on websites and skyping for almost an hour.but this thing will not die on me!even turned on sync GPS wifi bt and screen brightness on Auto. So far i am on a solid day and almost 3 hours with on screen time of at almost 8 hours and im only on 38%! and this even includes with some wakelocks i have trouble with! The battery does get warm but its not hardly noticeable and definitely its not a concern considering how much stuff i have tried doing to drain the crap out of this thing. Now this is all still on one charge, and The little card does say to fully discharge and fully recharge to 100% 4-5 times, so this may change to be even better than that. As such this review is still in progress. but I do want to let everyone know, if youre looking for a cheap battery and case thats efficient, high quality and long lasting. I would not hesitate and buy this battery and case NOW.
I will be updating this, after the 6th full charge to give a feedback on how the battery is after being calibrated.

Pros:Battery :Extremely long battery life for the price
May be easier to hold with the added bulk!
Not too much heating

Case:Nice poly feel to the case
Kickstand is a great touch for watching movies and
Fits extended battery nice and tight
Comes in many colors.
Nice design on the case.

These Cons are really minor for me, but may not be for you.
Cons: battery- Bulk may not be for some people
Spotty nfc
The battery makes the phone look weird.

Case- doesnt feel too protective
Kickstand is sometimes hard to come off.
Volume and power buttons feel like they are not there.

if you have any questions on something i may have left off, let me know and i will answer them and update the review. Thank You!

I'm glad Hyperion got their stuff right with Note 2. After reading all the issues with their original Note battery (turned out they marked their battery with fake capacity: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1559611) I crossed them out from my list. The only names I do trust are Mugen and Anker since those been in business for awhile and stand behind their product with the best extended warranty.

But I keep coming back that I'm going to miss all of my cases lol!!! Just for an extended capacity I don't want to be stuck with tpu case. Although, next week ZeroLemon (another super-trusted brand!) will be finally releasing their 9300 mAh extended battery for Note 2 with tpu case and rugged case to follow in the summer. That would be something to consider. Btw, I noticed that some people use their Note 2 with extended batteries to charge other devices through OTG cable :) I even took advantage of that yesterday, while having my regular stock battery. My bt headphones run out of juice, and I couldn't use external battery because headphones draw very little current, not enough for external battery to turn on. So, I used my Note 2 with OTG cable to charge my headphones ;)

They (ZeroLemon) keep pushing the release date. Supposed to be on sale tomorrow. Amazon.com: ZeroLemon Samsung Galaxy Note II 9300mAh Extended Battery + Free Grey Extended TPU Full Edge Protection Case - White: Cell Phones & Accessories

They had battery ready over a month ago, but TPU case was loose so it took them awhile to fix that. Plus, they are starting to work on a design of rugged case for summer release. The price of that 9300 mAh monster is going to be $39.99 including battery cover and TPU case. You can see the original review/video for that device here: MobileTechReview Forum, News and Reviews: ZeroLemon Samsung Galaxy Note II 9300 mAh Extended Battery Review but keep in mind it was an early tpu case prototype that was loose.

I've had one of these Hyperion 6,200 mah batteries for several months. In testing it keeps the GPS going all day making a track log plus other uses or allows many hours of screen time through a day. I use the battery only when twice the battery power might be needed. Before I would go to the size of a 9,000 mah battery I'd carry a spare battery. I prefer the stock battery for routine days but it's nice to have the big one.

Double the battery capacity means double the charging time so I expect to have separate charger for batteries by summer.

To insure there is power to spare and preserve battery endurance in the long run I keep the phone plugged in whenever AC or the car charger is available.

It also helps to avoid wasteful use of battery power. The simplest thing, when you aren't using one of the radioes, keep it turned it off. I have power toggles on my home screen for wifi, bluetooth, data, and GPS that also display the statue of the radio. The phone likes to turn on wifi without my permission, which is annoying. I also got a screen brightness manager called Lux, which seems to be effective once you've taught it what brightness level to use in various situations.

HI everyone! sorry i havent kept you updated, but i would like to inform everyone, that so far i have had Zero Major complaints with the battery, every time i unplugged the battery i never have to worry about how long today is it going to last? everyday it has gotten better, from total time reaching at least a day and like 5 or 6 hours , right around the 20% mark , and at least 10 hours, yeah i mean 10 HOURS of on screen time. unfortunately i have forgotten to take alot of pictures of these stats. which i will remember too now ;) but i do have one picture of yesterdays total time. The on screen time was around 11 hours, but with i had to restart my phone and it cleared all the battery settings for some odd reason. And these times also reflect wakelocks that I have been plagued with my old battery.

The only real problem im having, and this is more of user error than anything, is calibrating the battery. Whenever for some reason i need to restart my phone. if im on 90% battery left, when it turns on again it will go back to 93 or above.

Now charging time for me isnt bad, when i plug in the stock battery it only takes, one or two hours at max. this extended only takes maybe an hour more. but that could just be because its not calibrated correctly
